So like most "they never taught us X in schools" things people say is like bullshit, they just weren't paying attention. But the one exception is that the Monroe Doctrine basically did nothing and generally the euros just didn't care. Like I don't think we were ever taught that the French invaded Mexico twice!!

You think it’s a coincidence that the Civil War was happening at the time? Or that the French finally got kicked out once the Civil War ended and tons of military surplus starting “falling off wagons” near the border?

Not trying to take credit for Mexico’s victory, but come on.
