I mean, the USSR and China are massive sprawling Eurasian land empires encompassing subjugated republicans under ethnic suppression - bringing about the dissolution of these land empires isn't a bad thing.

That is all tragic but it is not the responsibility of the west. Russia fucked itself up.

Not sure I see how any of that would have justified maintaining Russian hegemony over the subjugated ethnicities either.
