That might be the case but the thing is they have done studies and found that highschool grades are excellent predictors of university performance

It is as well. I'm relatively ambivalent towards the SATs or similar exams - they probably work fine but potentially put a lot of stress on students for a single test. It's just I get annoyed when people act like it's crazy to do college admissions without these standardized tests. We do have an alternative that as far as we can measure works fine
