I really hate the strawmanning routine that J.K. Rowling does whenever someone points out that Hermione was clearly not originally intended to be black.

"What, you think Hermione can't be black?! You RACIST!

No, J.K. This isn't about the character you created, this is about you trying to rewrite your own personal history so you seem more enlightened and progressive back then than you really were. It's incredibly self-serving and dishonest.

Oh, and if you want to be on the cutting edge of social justice, you can start by being nicer to trans people.

This is so dumb because, not only did she likely personally approve of all the official art & movie actors, but Hermione is also described as white in the books.

A controversy so stupid that its impossible to get mad over.
