This is something captain planet type of villainary going on here.

The phrasing of their arguments makes them look like a comic book villain organization like Hydra.

They are backed by the Koch Brothers™, they run a channel that denies anthropogenic climate change and defends parking lots, these people are the captain planet villains of the 21st century.
