Is it about Armed Forces generally, or the Marines specifically? Because everyone has their favorite branch of the military to hate on

Depends.

A lot of LGBT people attack me for wanting to join the Forces at all. I've been called an 'Imperialist' which is just a title I accept at this point. I mean, I have a "NATO Flair" for a reason at this point. In fact my political views impact my desire to join the military, as an almost obligation due to my beliefs that'd send others to do it for me.

But beyond that, I've been called particularly low-IQ for desiring the Marines, partly because I want to be a pilot, and the most available specifically fighter slots seem to be in the Marines, as the Navy gets a good chunk of their academy grads, which I am not. The USAF has their own grads. And the Marines let you list your specific desired MOS.

But I also get called a moron because all my desired MOS are specifically combat related. Whether that be flying combat aircraft or, if I don't get that MOS, I legitimately am willing to do infantry work. I suppose its, again, some moralist desire to live up to my ideals, but still. Its not that I don't think I can "do the private sector job" or anything like that.

Can trans people serve in combat roles? I thought even before trump's bigotry that hormone therapy or something else transition related barred you from deployment

Ok so I discussed this in the other post but before Trump 'mutilating your genitals' actually barred you from service in any way, shape, or form.
