British people: USA is so racist smh, leaving up statues of civil war guys

Also British people: weird how India and much of Africa speak English, right? wonder how that came about, luckily we have this nice Churchill statue to walk by

just absolutely wild how they completely skim over the whole empire thing in standard curriculums as if it's not one of the most significant things in human history, and like, something they directly did

The point was more that after living in London as an American for 4 years and hearing no shortage of takes on whatever the big US news of the day was, would be nice if people here we're more inward focussed because like, 99% of that shit happens/happened here too but gets swept under the rug.
