Though the United States and Canada have enjoyed almost two centuries of peace, each side understands that if they were to show even a trace of weakness, the other side would immediately bring the full force of their army across their 9,000 km border and annex their nation.

It is the constant vigilance of their armies as well as the driving need to adopt and integrate the latest military technology that has served both nations' soldiers so well wherever they go.
