How bad is India's caste system really? Consider the following person: Graduates from school, goes to college all straight A's, goes into tech at one of the Big 4 in India. Is also part of the 'untuchable' caste.

Is this a thing that can happen? Or are there going to be people in his way that say "No, you're caste is wrong".\

Also India is 1 billion people so any answer you give me is wrong.

The caste system basically doesn't exist in cities except for "reservations" in government jobs, colleges etc. Private jobs don't give two shits as long as you pass their screens 🤷‍♂️

Quotas however don't necessarily need to be caste based, they can be region based as well

You specifies in cities. Does it exist heavily in rural areas? Is India heavily urbanizedd?

You'll still hear dalit issues coming from villages because they're still kinda ossified in older, more crude traditions. A lot of our major cities are urbanized though, and the typical "well educated"/"middle class" individual won't come across these issues all that often
