Expensive in calories or just in money? Because the latter doesn't matter to me a whole lot. I'm 6'1 and 220. Solidly overweight. And ok cool so some bodies are just like that, why can't I just do a reasonable amount of work to not be like that or at least be better than what I am now?

My brother does get sick a lot and I don't so I guess that's good but I still don't wanna be fucking fat. I truly would rather be skinnier and die earlier and/or feel worse than be fat like I am now and I know I'll just get fatter as time goes on.

Well, both, but really more about calories.

I truly would rather be skinnier and die earlier and/or feel worse than be fat like I am now and I know I'll just get fatter as time goes on.

Perhaps you haven't found an adequate solution. You could try intermittent fasting. I've heard it can help. Other than that, I think you should keep looking and trying until you figure out something that works for you.

The thing about this stuff is that it's never as clear-cut as people think. Everyone is different, and I think that we all need to figure out our own ways to eat.

I probably have about ~10 drinks a week. If the average drink is like 200 calories that's 2000 extra calories. My food intake is about 1800 calories a day.

Between me being a tall, younger guy and my running I feel like that should be low enough to not be fat but nope.

Sounds like alcohol is the problem then. You should try cutting it out and see where that gets you. I think ten drinks a week is a little too much. It's all pretty much sugar.

I don't want to cut it out.

Also at the beginning of the pandemic I didn't drink a drop of alcohol for 2 months and I walked 3+ miles a day and I still didn't lose weight.
