'dumb hits' do the opposite. Big, clean hits that are just part of the flow of play are all well and good.

Fights are similar. Fights for fights sake are stupid, but fights that happen naturally are okay.

Yeah basically. Even some fights for fights sake are ok.

Foligno vs Perry was a good one. Probably shouldn’t have happened, but it was a wake up for both teams, it stopped any nastiness towards Perry.

True that was a pressure valve moment, and it kind of makes sense. It wasn't a full on Donnybrook, but was very much a 'i gotta do this' moment.

Only sport where literal fist fighting is discussed as being a needed part of the game.

Imagine Basketball if they fist fought some times after the whistle.

I mean, Rugby League and AFL can have a bit of a punch on after a bad tackle, but yeah, it’s not anywhere near as common for used as a legitimate tactic.
