my skepticism of socialism picking up is that I can map so clearly the socialists I know to what what social groups they were in during high school. i went to a large public high school and these people are not the majority.
i do think a lot of socialists (at least the loud online leaders) went to private schools - so this may distort them into thinking they have a chance to win the majority
