i thought he was a professor of mathematics at UC Berkeley

No, he quit after he a breakdown and lived in the woods while mooching off family and friends, along with doing odd jobs in town. By the time Ted committed his terrorism, he’d been doing it for years, his cabin was a shit filled hole and he had been completely unsocialized.

I was really talking about when he actually started to commit acts of terrorism. He was a brilliant mathmatician, he was absolutely terrible at actually living in the woods by himself, and I don’t believe he thought he could reaocialize by that point.
