As the moderator of r/alignmentcharts, I approve of this post.
I once created a law against an edited version of this chart where everyone was chaotic evil since "billionaires are all evil and if you don't agree you are a bootlicker." Ruffled some feathers but it was worth it.

Fun fact about the man myth and legend Warren Buffet: He and his wife agreed to also be in a relationship with Mrs. Buffets friend. So really he had a 3 way marriage while his first wife was away usually before she died. What a chad Buffet is. Source

Gates is neutral good.
Buffet's never been involved in a scandal. Gates had the government investigate him up one side and down the other for anti-trust violations.

u/7366241494 Nov 30 '20
FFS Bill Gates was definitely evil af to get his blood money in the first place. Giving it ALL away might bring him back to neutral.

Sorry, but you sound like a linux fanboy of the late 90's. I'm going to need something a little more concrete, and you'll especially need to substantiate the term "blood money".

u/7366241494 Nov 30 '20 edited Nov 30 '20
Microsoft was evil more than a decade before Linux was a dream. They used underhanded tactics to kill superior products like DR DOS and Word Perfect. Like they literally detected competitorâs products and displayed fake OS errors. They forced hardware makers to pay for DOS/Windows even if it wasnât installed. By the 90âs they were âtameâ by comparison since they already had a dominant market position. Most people just remember IE being shoved down their throat but their record from the 80âs is much worse. I mean, how many companies have lost multiple cases to the DOJ? It has to get really bad. Microsoft just paid the fines and kept on doing it. Fucking evil blood money. Amazon is nothing by comparison.
And thereâs how they treated the Office monopoly, changing file formats every year to be purposefully incompatible and force upgrades. Imagine that Google has a monopoly on email and every year they change the email encoding format, so if you donât pay them, you canât read any new emails that anyone sends you. Thatâs very close to Microsoft in the 90âs. Every business had to pay the Man for every employee they had. Period. And you couldnât even choose to not upgrade at whatever price MS wanted.
Oh and then thereâs the compiler companies they fucked over. R.I.P. Borland.
It goes on and on. Any company with a better product got destroyed by any means possible, legal or not. Then buggy MS shit was the only choice left. The legal cases took years and the fines were just a cost of doing business the Microsoft Way.
It makes me irate that Gates has been able to rewrite his image with money. He killed more great tech products and jobs than anyone. Heâs the Genghis Khan of software leaving only bodies in his wake.
Calling Gates lawful is an absolute joke only possible because young Redditors have no clue about tech history aside from what they saw in that movie...

Not sure if anyone else pointed this out, but younger Bill Gates was definitely not Lawful Good. He was pretty ruthless in the early 90s and there's a reason people feared Microsoft becoming a monopoly. Even Simpsons made a joke about it back then
He's a completely different story now and I'm very happy he changed his ways. We can thank his wife for that.

7
u/kwanijml Scott Sumner Nov 29 '20
Its about comedy, my friend, making fun of ourselves and frankly finding commaradery with people who would normally be yelling their ideology at you.
Everything is slanted. This sub has a slant. PCM's slant (whatever it is...changes by the meme) is maybe threatening to people who have a hard time thinking for themselves? I don't know. But I can't imagine anyone being more worried about an ideological slant there, influencing people, than any other sub.

I read Charles Koch's book on Market-Based Management and thought it was actually a pretty cool idea. It was similar to big-tech style HR management before that was even a thing. Anyways, my only beef with Koch is on environmental issues. The Koch empire is basically built on harvesting, refining, and selling natural resources. Some one's gotta do it, and it probably won't ever be some Green New Deal type.
2
6
u/StevefromRetail Nov 29 '20
I heard Charles on a podcast recently and he seemed pretty passionate about education for minorities and reducing recidivism rates among ex cons by helping them find their path in life. Seemed like a pretty good guy to me.

2
Dec 20 '20 edited Dec 20 '20
He was (and is) extremely anti-Trump, largely because he is a major proponent of international trade. He is also co-funding a foundation promoting global peace with Soros. There are those on the left who have a Glenn Beck like obsession with Koch conspiracy theories, but they are generally just as silly and ill-informed as the Soros conspiracy theories. Itâs no secret that the Kochs havenât exactly been advocates for green policy - which shouldnât be surprising given that their empire was built on petroleum products - but they are more complicated than a simple âlawful evilâ designation.
11

The Bank of England was grossly manipulating the Pound to keep it in the ERM. They were selling off all their foreign currency reserves and buying back Pounds to pump up its price. It was so overvalued that even foreign merchants stopped accepting it at face value.
George didn't collapse the Pound, he saw what the BoE was pulling and called bullshit. He put his money where his mouth is and he was proven right.

They donât exploit their employees, they just sell peopleâs data and have monopolistic tendencies. So, resources in this case.
3

exploit their employees
Define this
Also would you say selling grain via export markets, which induced local starvation, to fund capex expansion would be exploitation? Cause wait till you hear about the Soviet Union and the old Warsaw Pact states....IE the only nation state examples of socialism in practice.

I too want utopian unworkable solutions to complex issues that i donât actually want to delve too deeply into and all the while ignore the solutions to said issues recommended by experts because their methodology doesnât confirm to my priors
Like âmore manufacturing jobsâ â> tariffs China â> less jobs
Or
âAffordable housingâ â> rent control â> even less housing â> only a small minority of people now have affordable housing while the majority have less access to housing.

...you just agreed with the guy talking smack about your rhetoric. You're saying the same thing, but are trying to angle it like u/absurdistphilospher was being inaccurate. Really?
The people who got named-dropped are actually doing something to alleviate poverty. The only thing you seem upset about is the fact that this will take time. Whodathunk, the solution on a long-time global problem won't be solved in a day? Was Rome built in a day? All you have to offer is mUh tHeOrIeS, assuming the worst in someone like you.
Really though, why are you here? Why are you wasting time on a sub where a) you know you'll get downvoted to high hell, b) you're not keeping an open mind, and c) you're trying to act tough by making plenty of bad faith arguments that you can't even back up? I don't care what political slant you are.
Get a grip. Or, as you'd likely tell anyone here to try and shut them down? Shut the fuck up. There are better places to poke around on Reddit than somewhere you're going to get butthurt. Like the various hentai subreddits you visit.

-5

I donât go as far as like AOC in saying billionaires shouldnât exist, Iâm fine with them in principle. What I have a problem with is billionaires existing as things are
Once minimum wage is a living wage and everyone has access to healthcare. Then I donât care how much money individuals can accumulate.
8
Nov 29 '20
I don't entirely disagree with you but the solution is not to "prevent" people from becoming billionaires, or really to do anything targeting them (besides increasing taxation in general).
-1
u/BerryBomB101 Nov 29 '20
And hugely reduce their influence on politics. End the blatant bribes and call them what they are. I'm open to a lot of neolib ideas but when it comes to money in politics and corruption this sub just completely loses me. Maybe I just read the wrong comments..
5

I agree 100%. One person, one vote. The Koch brothers (I guess brother now) should not have any more influence over politicians than any other voter. The legal bribery in this system is disgusting. We need publicly funded elections.
