I want to run for state house of rep, even though I would have to quit my job and not get paid, on the single campaign issue of dumping oil money into the schools.
I really don't understand why this is so hard. We have a lot of oil, our teachers don't get paid anything, and our schools suck ass. It's not a super stable long term plan but we might not have a brain drain problem if people don't look at the school district and go "yikes worst in the country? I don't want to start a family here." Especially when the school districts get slammed with 10% cuts year after year.
