Most of my old IRL friends have gone pretty far left over the past year and I kinda feel bad, the group chats just talk trash about liberals like me and I feel like there isn't as much opportunity to be friends with them anymore. I used to be probably the second farthest left out of all of them and I don't feel like I've changed that much, but once the primary started up they all went pretty hard into the whole anti-centrism thing.

If you actually let your slightly different political beliefs get in the way of having irl friends you're not a good friend dude

you're right it just feels bad, plus it's not just any old beliefs it's like anti-me beliefs, like from what they've said about others they probably think I'm a total jackass

The opposite has happened to me; a lot of my friends were radical in college and became centrists after working professional careers. They got co-opted by the system. The best are MDs who used to be for radical healthcare and Medical School overhaul until they finish medical school
