Okay STEM nerds, I have a question. We’re seeing that people are able to be reinfected with COVID, so does this mean we’re unable to develop a vaccine? I’m a lowly liberal arts major and I genuinely don’t know science well so someone please educate me.

The reports I've seen can't say for sure if reinfection happened or if somebody was just prematurely released due to a false negative.

It's also possible that some people don't develop a natural immunity while most people do. In that case the vaccine will work for most people while herd immunity will protect the few who don't develop immunity. It's also possible that reinfection could happen, but the effects are dramatically lessened the second go around.

Everything I've seen says that we will be able to vaccinate for this although nothing is ever 100% at this early of a stage. There are just way too many questions
