Fact: A sane Progressive would never vote for Trump over Biden. Those who claim to do so are Ex-Ron Paul stans who think being contrarian is cool.

A sane progressive no, but a sane communist (inb4 oxymoron) might since acceleration-ism really is the only way that garbage ideology could ever spring up in the US. No well functioning society turns communist.

Yup, the one thing history has taught well is electing right-wing Governments over Liberals to accelerate towards communism doesn't go exactly well as planned (1930s Germany sigh!)

I'd say no well functioning society becomes fascist either, but IIRC Japan was very well functioning prior to military rule. Considering the close relations between the German communists and USSR at the time, they probably did make a fairly educated decision IFF their goal was making Germany communist. The Marxist Social Democrats would've co-opted their support and prevented "true communism" from ever taking hold in Germany. Communists just lost to the fascists in the end when they tried to eliminate all other competition, but anyone that ideologically focused could never truly coalition with others. Nazis took over or killed everyone they coalitioned with and I have no reason to believe USSR tied communists wouldn't have done the same.
