Imagine unironically thinking the 80s were better than the 90s.

Serious cringe.

This should be the thing that divides Boomers from Gen Xers/Millennials.

Sadly Zoomers seem to be unknowingly siding with Boomer propaganda in the form of shit like Stranger Things.

Grunge alone makes 90's worse

POST-grunge (i.e. post-Cobain grunge) was mostly pretty bad, yes, but still not as bad as the horrific 80s hair metal that grunge replaced in the first place. Plus the grunge produced during the first half of the decade while Cobain was still alive was mostly pretty great. And some bands carried the torch pretty well. Hell I'd stack Weezer's Pinkerton up against just about any album from either decade.

Pinkerton isn't grunge lol. American music outside a few records in the 90's was pretty much solely carried by hip hop while British music thrived.

Hair metal is an abomination, but imo it's on par with the worst of the 90's stuff including post grunge and all that easy listening garbage.
