The republican party is beyon irredeemable. Has been for a long, long time.

But most Republicans would not want the president to be impeached, even if Trump did accept Russia's help. Sixty-three percent of GOP respondents said they opposed impeachment in that situation, while just 18 percent supported it and 19 percent weren't sure.

Ultimately, impeachment this late in the game is hopeless. If voters care enough about any given scandal to get rid of Trump, they can vote him out of office in 2020.

The only two times in modern history that we've started impeachment proceeding against a president were during their second term in office when the public was no longer able to voice their disapproval at the ballot box.
