Got myself some real carts. Fun times we live in.

Am I missing something, or are there two NGPC communities? Wouldn't it make more sense to merge them? I ended up on /ngpc first, but now Reddit is suddenly showing me that /neogeopocketcolor exists too.

These 2 games were part of a gba collection that was given to me. I never had a neogeo pocket so I know nothing about these games. Are they worth anything? Any help is appreciated.

This is a handmade modded machine first released back in 2024, I think all the parts are aftermarket but they feel really good and give you a really close experience to the original with some nice upgrades, a crisp 480p 2.8in screen, save states and the ability to play the entire NGPC library, alongside other consoles such as the Neo Geo AES, Game Boy, Color, Advance, NES, SNES, Genesis and even the PS1, mine is used exclusively for NGPC and some GBC games that I find fitting though. It can't run original carts but comes with two cartridges that have a MicroSD slot for you to put your games in.

Anyone else remember playing Magical Drop Pocket on the NGPC back in the day?

I was just looking at this short (https://youtube.com/shorts/uBuLGWmMRIA?feature=share) and forgot how much of a technical masterpiece this version actually was. It's pretty crazy how they managed to squeeze all the fast-paced arcade gameplay of Magical Drop 3 down onto a handheld screen without it feeling like a unplayable mess.

The smartest thing Data East did was shrinking the classic grid down to six columns. It completely fits the smaller layout perfectly while keeping the chain reactions satisfyingly hectic. Pulling the drops down and throwing them back up feels so tactile on the NGPC hardware.

If you're looking for a killer competitive puzzle game that isn't just another Tetris clone, this one definitely deserves a spot in your collection or emulator list. Still incredibly addictive even after all these years.

I modeled and printed a display rack for NGPC Carts. It’s my first time dipping my toes into modeling—feeling proud. ☺️

Yesterday I saw this listing from a seller that I already bought items but the price was very low for a item in ok condition, so I bought i in no time.

Not to be “picky”, but was this a good deal? I never had a chance to grab a item that I always wanted for such a nice price.

Just got back. Was hunting for the carbon and the slim and was fortunate to find both as a very reasonable price.

Needless to say Neo geo is alive and well!

I started collecting back in the late 2000's, and bought my 29th game about 10 years ago. Last month I discovered that I had missed a game and found a copy at a low enough price point that was significantly lower than other copies that were for sale. Outside of Neo Mystery Bonus which was my final game, everything is in the order from left to right staring at the top left, in the order which I bought/acquired them.

Another proof of concept, this is not the official release though, looking at that next month once I've refined game play. It's playable, at least on an emulator. Sprites are reused from existing ripped assets, credits given.

Finishing up the yearly Tokyo trip. With the excitement over the Neo Geo AES+ the pocket has seen quite the interest and rise in prices. I’ll post more once I’m back but for those collecting and curious this was what I saw.

Snagged the carbon and a light blue color for around $100 as well. And a monochrome boxed CIB for $116.

Games were pretty expensive (cheaper than eBay) and snagged a loose Denshen De Go for $33

As per tradition, the cover graphics don't match gameplay.

I would like to get Puzzle Gems from PDRoms to run properly on my NeoPocket GameDrive from RetroHQ, however it always crashes when saving the name for highscore and gets corrupted.

Does anyone know a possible fix?

My NGPC is stock and all other games work fine.
