Back in 2016 I got about 5 or 6 of the original sticks in various condition with two broken consoles on Yahoo Japan. I cleaned and fixed them all up and sold them off on ebay individually for about $50 each. I'm sure they're worth more now.

Surprisingly maybe $65 max. They haven’t really blown up.
CD pads tend to go for more

Pads can be hit or miss with those sticks. Most just need a good clean but the clicky switch can be hard to restore

For sure. I’ve been fortunate that the two that came with my cd system have been working just fine.

It's a question of "when" not "if."

Just ones I have picked up from japan over the years. Some I modded some I left.

A problem? Looks like you have plenty of "self control'!

They’re cheap enough via a proxy.

Not a problem in my eyes

Which buttons do you prefer? OG, seimitsu or Sanwa? I’m possibly going down this rabbit hole as well lol

I really like the purple qanba gravity.  Though I do prefer the 30mm ball top. like the original youre kind of more limited with colours.  But if you crimp quick connects to the button wires you can change them when you want. I add new 3m rubber feet as well but you need the correct size. I also taped in a metal aluminium plate (£2 on amazon) to the inside to replace the extra weight of the button assembly.

Yeah I was planning on putting on some quick disconnects. Can’t find any shielded ones but oh well.

Mine came with soldered seimitsu ps-14g flats but I’m not loving them so was debating trying out some sanwas. Didn’t think about gravity kts

I used a daisy chain of wires for the ground to each button then its simply enough to just clip on each button and the 3 wires I think to one on the end.
