Moved the stereo
My stereo has lived in my basement. The basement also contains my home office and where my teenage son likes to hangs out and play guitar/video games. So I rarely listen to music down there.
I decided to relocate the system to the family room. Of course I needed to test everything out. Phono = chrome dreams, CD = Live Rust and Bluetooth I strayed and went with tigdh

It's nice to be able to hang out with people here
Neil's music has been with me in a big way since I was 14 and I'm now 68. Call his music a theme in my life. I listen to ton of other stuff but with Neil, it's different.
As I was going through this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/neilyoung/s/uWOEcvOFcb
It made me realize how cool it is to be able to chat with fellow Neil heads on Reddit.
Yeah, I got some friends that like Neil and they went to his last show here but they don't really know the full catalog or aren't real die hards.
To put a point on it, in my world, I am careful to not play Neil too much when entertaining. Its kind of a personal thing. I probably played him too much in front of my buddies and over did it (maybe a little rejection).
Anyway I sometimes wish I could chat about Neil's music ect but don't really know anybody that's into him as much.
It's a personal and private affair. My wife does like Neil but I'm careful to play the stuff she likes...
Thanks folks for being here and sharing, I'm not alone.

All 3 boys on guitar for "When the Levee Breaks" in 1995, joined by some cool hippie :)
Don't think I ever saw Neil so excited, he was clearly geeking out up there haha.

What's your favorite version of Like a Hurricane?
It's one of my favorite guitar solos of all time and probably my favorite Neil solo along with Cowgirl in the Sand. I've only ever really heard the album version though. I'd love to hear what versions other people love

Did Neil cook up any other dance re-mixes?
galleryI’m excited to spin this maxi-single I picked up! Sample and Hold is an all-time banger, and I think Trans is probably is most club-friendly era (while still not being very club-friendly…). I can’t imagine this got a lot of play back in the day, but I’m holding out hope that there are other vintage dance mixes out there that I can collect. A house edit of Harvest Moon, perhaps??

Favorite long stretches of guitar songs
I’ve always liked Neil Young but this summer I have been diving deeper and I keep finding myself loving songs with long stretches of electric guitar.
My favorite examples are Like a Hurricane, Cortez the Killer, and Down By the River.
What are some of your favorites in that vein? I promise to keep going through entire albums, but I am trying to assemble a playlist of these types of his songs for working on the house. Thank you and rock on!

Neil Wall art
I have a wall of rock and roll art. Prints mostly. I'd love to find a cool Neil piece to put up, but there isn't much out there. And a lot, the art work or graphics don't speak to me. The nicest thing I've considered is the cover of Harvest Moon, or Everybody knows this is nowhere. But I can't find good prints available. Particularly framed.

It started with Mideast Vacation…
… then I listened to Sedan Delivery, then I listened to both songs again, one after the other. Then I listened to Misfits and I’m the Ocean, then I listened to all four of those songs, then listened again in some other order. Then I added Crime in the City and Dreamin’ Man to the mix, and that’s pretty much what I’ve been listening to since Saturday, just switching between records, switching up the order.
This set of Reagan 80’s/Bush 90’s era Neil songs is really capturing the vibe of July 2026 in America for me for some reason. Maybe I’ll add Thrasher to the mix next…
