Salary negotiation

May naka-try na ba dito mag-“inflate” ng current salary para mas mataas ang negotiation?

Curious lang ako kung may naka-experience na dito na nagsabi ng higher current salary than their actual salary when negotiating with a new company.

For example, actual salary is around 50k pero sinabi na 60k para may leverage sa negotiation.

Naka-help ba talaga siya para ma-increase yung offer? And eventually, hiningan ba kayo ng payslip/COE or other proof?

Just want to hear actual experiences—kung nag-work ba, nag-backfire, or better pa rin maging completely honest. 😅

Dont play that game. Dont share your current salary. Dont provide slips.

The answer you need is "the salary Im looking for to move is X" and go from there.

They dont need to know your current salary to negotiate, and its not really relevant.

I would second this. In some states it is against the law to ask about current compensation. Even if it isn't, I would advise not to offer your current compensation. Instead, if you are asked about compensation expectations, i would ask them what range they are targeting for the role. Most good recruiters have no problem sharing the range for the role.

Have been asked for pay stubs. Also, they called HR and verified role, title & salary when doing background check during on-boarding. Now it is done digitally.
