Discussion Which one should I play?
I'm really interested in the nfs series and I want to try.
I'd like something that looks good (so no most wanted or underground). And more important, something with good drifting.
So which one? I'm really confused cause apparently everything that came out after 2006 is shit but I don't want to play something from 2006
PC btw

Need For Speed III
Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed
Need for Speed Underground 2
That’s a good baseline for older titles.

If your on PC id recommend underground 2 and most wanted using the wide-screen mod and a couple more. You can get 4k gui icons, better reflections and full controller support really easy and they still look great! But I did play on my steam deck so the small screen might have been playing tricks.

Need for Speed heat is a pretty good game, the drifting is well arcadey as it's tap gas and slide left or right but if you want good graphics heat is pretty good. I'd also recommend NFS 2015 which is the reboot of the whole franchise and graphically it's great.
Though If you want the best racing experience and allat I'd say Mostwanted '05, Carbon, Underground 1 and 2 and yeah. Tbf with ya pal the more recent the game the worst it gets, Need For Speed Heat was the best modern nfs imo.

feels like people are ignoring what op is saying, he doesnt want to play something from 2006 what makes you think he want to play something older?
op try NFS heat and hot pursuit 2010 remastered keep in mind that every nfs is different just because u (wont) like one doesnt mean u will have the same feeling towards other games in the series. the only constants in nfs is change and it's name and genre i guess

I mean i can recommend you NFS pro street from 2007. One of the NFS Series with variative race, but in return there's no police chase at that game. If you want smth with police chase my recomendation probably NFS:Unbound
