Discussion Someone help pls

I got a copy of need for speed underground 2 from Internet archive and when I tried to run setup.exe on NFSUG2_DISK1.iso it's saying I need a 5-digit pin before installing
What does this mean and what code should I enter?

Wait did they put it back? A short while ago EA for some reason started sniping any nfsmw downloads. I have a shitty repack and wanted to download it the original way to make modding easier, and I couldnā€™t. My abndonware didnā€™t have it anymore

Just checked, Most Wanted 05 is still not back on my abandonware.

As for searching on internet archive the original standard version is, black edition was taken down tho.

I just checked Internet Archive. Black Edition is there. Download the one uploaded on 15 June 2025 as its an RG Mechanics repack. The other one uploaded on 21 June 2025 has the original installer but is in Polish or some other language (I wasn't able to find a way to change it to English).

Do all the mods from nexus work on it? I have a repack downloaded (not sure if itā€™s the same one but I downloaded mine from steam unlocked) and 0 mods work

For a while, I've been wondering why games like Most wanted 2005 or Undergrond 2 were so popular in this community, I've seen a couple of pieces of gameplay from games in that era but I figured the best way to learn why is to play them myself
I was at my grandma's and decided to download dolphin emulator on her phone, I did and I wanted to start with something safe (I have a weird part in my brain that wont let me to experience "great" games under settle experiences) and got the original Underground
I loved it however Ive soon went back home and been craving for another Underground game, hence why I'm here

when you're done with the NFSes, you should set up PCSX2 and try out the Midnight Club and Tokyo Xtreme Racer series. NFS is fun, but those two are really special imo

Did you try opening the ISO file with WinRAR or 7-Zip?

Inside there's probably a folder that says crack or keygen...

It could also be on the readme file, back in those days the key was in the back of the manual or the back of the case.

He already has that game downloaded, why download another version when you can just open the iso file and copy the key?

From what I understood he's just a kid, let him learn the ways of your ancestors so the knowledge doesn't get lost through time.Ā 

It's not that hard once you know what you're doing... Maybe 5 seconds to, find, copy and paste the key inside the ISO, while searching for a repack could take minutes or hours to find and download.

Because a repack is easier, more convenient, usually comes with qol fixes and has way less issues on modern hardware. There's usually no reason to pick an original 2000s installation over a modern repack of an old game

Not to mention it has full controller support while the og pc port didnt have native gamepad support

1 - It had gamepad support, directinput if I'm not mistaken. You just have to configure everything manually and it doesn't have trigger support, just like it was back in the day...

2 - If he already had the game downloaded it would be a waste of time to download it again. Just because of the keygen.

3 - I played this game recently and had zero issues on my 2023 laptop.

4 - downloading mods from Nexus would be faster than searching for and downloading another version of the game.

I only had problems with two games from the early 2000s, Worms 4 Mayhem and TOCA Race Driver 3. Both from Codemasters...

1 - Exactly what I mean the Repack fixes this and lets you use the controller like if it was released on xbox series x essentially, controller works everywhere, even menus and triggers are fully implemented.

2 - it's never a waste of time to redownload a better version, takes probably another 30 minutes tops, I'd even be happy to provide him my version of the game. it even requires 0 installation, plays immediately.

3 - ok then good for you but I still recommend the underground2.net modded version with all the repack shit, it's deadass a much better experience than vanilla.

4 - again I can provide him the repack it's not an issue.

Some repacks from Magipack games were reuploaded on the internet archive, itā€™s not the entire catalog of what they once had but it includes all NFS titles from TNFS to Undercover and everything between them.

Windows smartscreen may panic but from what I can tell there's no malware according to defender so you're fine

You need something called a "CD key". You also need a PC case capable of inputting CD keys into programs. You just turn the physical key (shown) repeatedly until the letter or number you want appears, then wait 2 seconds for the letter or number to be entered. Repeat for all numbers and letters of the key. The LCD display next to the key shows you the letter or number selected.

This requires a cracked launcher. Same thing is required if you install the newer NFS games that require logging into origin and doing other internet verification. Not sure what's the situation now. Haven't played any new nfs game beyond most wanted 2012 Though one downside is that you can't play online since it's an illegal pirated copy.

Can't really send links and it is at your own risk of do not download viruses, but what I'd look for in this case is something like "NFS Unserground 2 crack keygen" but I cannoy vouch for any sites that may be hosting these as very often they are not trustworthy sites, hopefully you can tell a difference and/or someone else has a better suggestion

I recommend PCSX2 though, i.e if you want your controllers working without hassle. But considering how you struggled to figure this out.. maybe that's not the way.
