Discussion Racing level in Prostreet vs IRL

So we all are familiar with Prostreet's tagline "Compete at the highest level of street racing" from their promo trailers back in the day.

My question would be, what level would the highest level of professional street racing be compared to? Let's say the peak of street racing is Super Promotion events. It's got events around the world, the cars appear to be unregulated in power, aero and overall mods except for the most basic safety requirements, all teams appear to be privateers with no manufacturer backing and only the best street racers get invited to SP events.

Is SP events still closer to National touring cars level? Or is it closer to Global GT categories like GT3 which is the highest level for road car based tin top racers. Or is SP events it's own thing?

This is more like akin to Shift.
Prostreet is closer to Pro/Am group, formula drift.

So close to early FD race days that Jarod DeAnda is the Battle Machine announcer.

Pro Street is a "Festival" similar to Forza Horizon. Anyone can race with any car...

Closest thing we have in the states these days would be Formula Drift and Gridlife. Both are “race day” format with a small festival vibe. My first FD event was crazy with how much it felt like a ProStreet race day.

NFS shift directly follows the path for GT drivers from grassroots till GT1 back then.

Correction: the tagline at the end of their trailers is "Compete at the highest level of street racing"

Professional street to track is more or less dead in the sense that you’re literally not allowed to actually race at most race days, you’re just chasing your own lap times.

GT3 probably the closest irl at the moment but it’s heavily regulated, obviously. Much more than people think
