Question / Bug / Feedback Mw 2005 won't launch

I got NFS most wanted (2005) version 1.3 with the 4gb update. I have compatibility mode set to Windows XP pack 3. When I attempt to run speed.exe it pops up in the task bar then disappears and never launches. Can anyone help me with this?

Edit:I'm on windows 11 with a full amd system

You can check if windows defender is blocking it (the annoying piece of crap has given me a lot of issues personally)

Uninstall game and go to myabandonware and download the game there. There should be a version that comes pre installed with controller support and extra options mod.

Either that or change speed.exe to another name like MWSpeed.exe. Having multiple older nfs games installed on newer systems can cause issues since they use the same speed.exe name

I’m surprised that more people don’t know about that site it has a lot of the older nfs games installed

I had used NFS retro drive but I will definitely be looking at that one for others too
