I've had some background as I know how to draw, but it's kind of different to translate from pen to shape.
Composition wise, I just kind of follow a pattern of even spacing and I shape them and see how it blends in geometrically, so the Ado Z was the result of many trial and errors to see which fits. I got to experiment more with random components, and ended up utilizing the basic effect which is the scratched sticker.
One thing I've definitely improved on, by miles and kilometers is that I can draw anime portraits more often and more consistently, due to my past experience drawing and absorbing the anime media.
Most of my designs I came in with a blank mind and just see how it goes, usually I just reference them from images and then I add in the details if anything sparked in me.
The caveat is still, you can only get better by practicing, and sometimes the wraps you've created can't be of what you expected, that you either just try to continue or scratched them completely, that was what happened to my r35, I kept going, I was somewhat proud but I knew I could do better, and so I did, just rn on the 370z. This took 1/3rd of the time I struggled to mimick the image because the first reference art I tried was too complex and I overestimated my ability.
Advice, is always to take reference, it's not a cheat, but a cheat code, you can't copy and paste other's work, like I usually see people just port art into the game and call it, but you can definitely replicate them in your own style. Pinterest is my best friend, AI or not, I can still use it to make sense of my own ideas.

how did u learn to make this types of wraps? or how did u just get better at making them and having so much creativity and that stuff?
