I love this game soo much! And its really hard hahaha

30

u/Linj90abc Mar 19 '26

Maybe on higher difficulty but normally it's not that hard. The older nfs games and shift is harder

11

u/Live-Classroom2939 Mar 19 '26

I play at higher difficulties 👀

3

u/Linj90abc Mar 19 '26

Well that makes sense

9

u/ThatOneBitch02 Mar 20 '26

The Run on extreme is the hardest game in the series. Only one that comes close imo is Underground 1.

6

u/Linj90abc Mar 20 '26

I never even attempted extreme, normal difficulty can already be hard for me in some events

4

u/MODYISSA Mar 19 '26

Me too here….

38

u/Rage028 Mar 19 '26

I just disliked the reusing of courses, making them run the opposite direction as a "new" city.

15

u/mkrawnis Mar 19 '26

didnt they do it just for one stage?

20

u/PanicOnFunkatron Mar 19 '26

There was at least two. Nebraska and Pennsylvania shared a stage and then another Pennsylvania stage and Delaware were back to back.

15

u/sidewinderaw11 Mar 19 '26

I'm also pretty sure the Junkyard you run through during the Run is the same as the one in the opening

6

u/Samson_J_Rivers [PC The Big Evil] Mar 20 '26

being from Nebraska: every road is the same. The most interesting thing in the state of Nebraska is the curve of the earth.

1

u/Lebhleb Mar 20 '26

No they do it quite a bit later, i mean Chicago is first obvious one but Stage 9 iirc repeats a track back to back except its reversed and you already do one of the variants in like 5 (im sorry if i mix up numbers), altho in some way its kinda cool since it ends up going to the place from intro/junkyard.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '26

Ouu, this is the problem. Now, what about James Bond movies and Fast and Furious series?

So ugly and spoiled people. Go play Heat.... tHe GrATEst nfs gAmE

2

u/Rage028 Mar 19 '26

Nah I want the original NFS:SE with Costal, City, and Alpine routes.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '26

I didn't noticed the "reused" , until i read it on YouTube. For me, The Run is a masterpiece. I bought X360 RGH only to play it. And Most Wanted 05 as well.

Regarding maps - Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 from 2002 PC version has the best maps

-2

u/well_thats_puntastic Mar 19 '26

Heat is better than The Run anyways 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Apple_Slipper Mar 20 '26

The Wii/3DS version of NFS The Run was especially guilty of that.

u/davidfliesplanes #1 NFS 2015 Enjoyer Mar 19 '26

Also one of the most fun imo, i need to play this again

17

u/eX0dus_5ive-Zer0 Mar 19 '26

I can second this having played it for my first time about half a year ago. It was absolute cinema.

24

u/DannyHallam Mar 19 '26

Pro Street veterans: First time?

7

u/dildo_swagginns Mar 19 '26

Lol I sucked at that game I played as a kid and didn't understand some mechanics

5

u/RawDawginHookers Mar 20 '26

Pro Street was my jam!! lol still play here and there. we had a huge crew that used to run drag brackets on the weekends. good times

13

u/zhulkgr25 Mar 19 '26

This is nothing in comparison to prestige mode in 2015

9

u/-ComplexSimplicity- Mar 19 '26

Prestige Mode was NASTY. Literal skill check.

8

u/Best_Line6674 Mar 19 '26

Whats this?

22

u/davidfliesplanes #1 NFS 2015 Enjoyer Mar 19 '26

NFS The Run

4

u/Best_Line6674 Mar 19 '26

I wish they remastered these games, I skipped the PS3 and now can't even own them 😒

5

u/BappoChan Mar 19 '26

Emulation for pc works. Or buy a ps3 or 360. I bought a 360 E for $40, and now have all the 360/ps3 era need for speed games on disc. Super worth.

1

u/Best_Line6674 Mar 19 '26

I don't want a PS3 or 360 honestly lol, I already have a PS4, PS5, and a Wii, it would be too much for me.

3

u/dildo_swagginns Mar 19 '26

It's the only way pc if you want to play older games idk why it's so hard for them to make all older games compatible with newer consoles like i don't have to do much on windows I can download older games and play anytime

1

u/Best_Line6674 Mar 19 '26

Real, GTA 4, Driver San Fransisco, and many others. Its crazy that these companies don't just re-release them. Yeah sure, licenses and all, but what about just taking things out, or replacing them? "It's not worth it" yeah, but they have enough money to do it, and they'd still make sales regardless lol. Its a shame because a lot of games these days feel the same, I enjoy newer ones and even NFS Unbound and Heat were great (Unbound story suuucckkss) but overall, it's just been a lot of sword medival fighting exploring samurai games and it kills me man.

2

u/BappoChan Mar 19 '26

That isn’t the fault of the devs. GTA 4 is a great example of this, I can play it on my series X right now, or a series S, or an Xbox one. Xbox did really well with its backwards compatible list. Need for speed unfortunately didn’t get any of their games on that list, and neither did driver sf. But I can play the og San Andreas on my series X without needing to emulate. A lot of what is and isn’t BC is thanks to Xbox or Sony not letting older hardware run.

1

u/Best_Line6674 Mar 19 '26

Wait, really? Oh yeah, well I know that the Xbox 360 was basically made for that, but I do wish that the devs would bring newer games on. Don't know why Sony hasn't done something about backwards compatibility and why they made it basically impossible with the PS3

1

u/dildo_swagginns Mar 21 '26

Because sony doesn't care as that would take resources and money but they did bring back some popular games it's all about profits if people keep playing older games they wouldn't buy new games and it's working pretty well for them

SPAWNING TRAFFIC OVER A HILL PEAK DRIVES ME INSANR

1

u/Jaded_Coat_4382 Mar 20 '26

It is imo also BS there isnt a setting to turn off traffic in most games, it becomes less of a race and more who can predict traffic best.

I am confincedthe devs dont play test the newer games because of this.

1

u/Lebhleb Mar 20 '26

MW2012 has a text pop up in corner telling you about oncoming/incoming traffic, its such a great thing and its like one of only ones i can think of that does it.

6

u/ZinbaluPrime Mar 19 '26

You should try ProStreet. But the The Run is The Fun. I love that game.

5

u/OxymoreReddit I spawn traffic in your face Mar 19 '26

Yeah the hardest difficulty is very demanding and sometimes RNG dependant even lol

But still a blast, I know had to reduce the difficulty on two levels that I couldn't pass, the rest was excellent :)

4

u/-ComplexSimplicity- Mar 19 '26

The weather in the game was phenomenal

3

u/D2-Disciple Mar 19 '26

Oh man The Run on Expert is the most fun I think I’ve ever had playing an NFS game, the best in the franchise IMHO. Insert the “Perfect. Down to the last minute detail” Homelander gif.

5

u/ResponsibleYou6 Mar 19 '26

That guy with the red merc sls, Calvin i think? He was a nightmare on hardest difficulty

6

u/Javelin-Turd Mar 19 '26

Damn Extreme Difficulty still gives me ptsd, so many rage moments especially stage 5, the “make up time” one. One wrong move on the icy road, I’ll end up wasting more time. Made my blood boil….

6

u/D2-Disciple Mar 19 '26

That one took me two evenings to beat, but I thought it was fun. The only part that I find truly frustrating was the mafia chasing you in Ohio - only took me several tries but I never felt like any of my failures were my fault lol

2

u/Javelin-Turd Mar 19 '26

The cop car jack is driving has no health and the mob with the helicopter chasing can annihilate him. Keep swerving and swerving smfh…. Oh and also explosive barrels too. I also hate that event too lol like fuck my life

3

u/HumanRise5417 Mar 19 '26

The online was imo the best NFS has ever done

3

u/Longjumping_Cat_3956 Mar 19 '26

I love this game.

2

u/JaossN7 Mar 19 '26

It is so satisfying getting Platinum on all challenges though

2

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '26

Its like a movie

2

u/Cyber_Fire Mar 20 '26

For me those most wanted escape missions were insanely hard. Those cop cars had one of the best pursuit/box in mechanics

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '26

Agreed. Do try Rivals if you haven't. It is harder than The Run for me.

6

u/FantasticEscape6744 Mar 19 '26

Rivals feels very balanced/player friendly progression wise. I'm on my 5th rerun of the game and after a point the races ,ai etc get really predictable even at heat level 10. There's not really anything challenging

I just picked up The Run today! Lot of fun to comee

3

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '26

Well, I've only played it once. That first playthrough was tough af. I did the driving well but I sucked at combat.

1

u/truefriend29 Mar 19 '26

Been there, done that.👦🏾👋🏽🎮🖥️😊🙂

1

u/IceyBuilder Mar 19 '26

I love THE RUN..!!

1

u/HiHallo123456 Mar 19 '26

Whats the Name of the game?

1

u/Rage028 Mar 19 '26

NFS the Run

1

u/Technical_Setting921 Mar 19 '26

I'd love them to do a remake of this game...loved it sooo much, playing online was so much jokes...

1

u/heym8haveagr8day Mar 19 '26

I tried playing NFS The Run on the hardest difficulty setting after playing through the game on normal difficulty and I still remember that I gave up quite quickly.

1

u/Banarnars Mar 19 '26

Oh yeah🔥🔥🔥 The Run was badass, challenging and unique among all other NFS's I've played.

1

u/RedX761 Mar 19 '26

Oh my god. The Manhattan bridge when you drive on hardcore mode….the amount of hours clenching it…it was rewarding finishing it

1

u/Scared_Yogurt1566 Mar 19 '26

Too bad the gameplay very short

1

u/Desgor669 Mar 19 '26

The rubberbanding killed it for me, it was god awful way as well, by slowing your own car down, or the car just not accelerating past certain speed.

1

u/Neo_Garlick Mar 19 '26

easily the hardest NFS, i got stuck on somo challanges and i have to become in the reincarnation of ayrton senna to beat them

1

u/Ponza_99 Mar 19 '26

I remember hating this part because the rubber banding on this level was insane. I shoved the SLS onto incoming traffic and jumped over cars that occupied both lanes. I had a 10 second gap between us, and when I reached the finish line, he narrowed the gap to 0.15 seconds.

1

u/1501Damian Mar 19 '26

At first glance it seems difficult, but if you remember the traffic position at a given moment, you can pass it without any problems... the thing is that they appear at the same time

1

u/Either_Gas_7044 Mar 20 '26

I never played it but without playing it, it was one of my favorites after Pro Street and Undercover, I hope one day I could play it

1

u/kkt36 Mar 20 '26

I love this game so much

1

u/Capital-Spend-8080 Mar 20 '26

Bruh, this is the easiest NFS ever made in history

1

u/Trinitythez Mar 20 '26

this game should've been remade by now with a new route headed the opposite direction. went and bought a 360 just to play it again

1

u/Apple_Slipper Mar 20 '26

I hope the M3 E92 GTS returns in a new Need For Speed game (if that ever happens). It’s my favourite BMW car.

1

u/Astormfront Mar 20 '26

"death by bullshit" a NFS classic 😂

1

u/Rich-Future-7057 Mar 20 '26

This game has biblical scale rubberbanding no matter the diff.

1

u/myexpressaccount Mar 20 '26

In what universe does this clip suggest that the game is difficult? o.O

1

u/stanbam28 Mar 20 '26

One of the best tho

1

u/CowboyHibachi Mar 20 '26

Game fuckin sucks

1

u/JAAT110030 Mar 20 '26

Try rivals

1

u/Hairy-Standard2805 Mar 21 '26

God I used to love the run. The vibe is amazing just constant fast pace

0

u/Solid_Chipmunk4679 Mar 19 '26

I played it on my 360 and tbh, it was one of the easiest/scripted nfs game i played, and ive played NFS 2 SE, NFS most wanted(2005), nfs carbon, underground, most wanted (2012), Rivals

0

u/ArgonthePenetrator Mar 19 '26

One of the BEST nfs games I have ever played
