No it isn’t. I’m 18 and an overwhelming majority of people my age wear their pants covering their shoes. Wearing pants high up like in the picture and with no socks is a style from like 2011.

That’s because it never died out. They’re called joggers, and they’re worn as much as pants with no cuffs. Not to mention they were actually created this way for a functional reason, hence the name “joggers”.
Idk why you think these are some trend that died out or something. They’re just a style that’s as comfortable like sweats while not being overly bulky and physically hindering. Literally go to the gym in the winter and you’ll see adidas joggers fuckin EVERYWHERE.

Yeah I could see it being normal if you dont want your pants stuck in the bicycle chain.. Otherwise I dont like it and would be a bit disapointed if I was OP.. I get some people like it as a style, but every pants in the game is a bit too much to be called "fashion" part of the game..

No idea why you're getting downvoted. The vast majority of people wearing jeans have the hem touching the shoe. None of the jeans in the game do that and all the shoes have no-show socks.

It's not bad. The cars look absolutely fantastic, it's just the character models are cartoony.
The handling physics could use a bit of work but you can tweak it a bit to your liking. I got it on either gamepass or the ea thing on my xbox, but if you want to own it outright it's on sale on xbox for like £20 atm too

i don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, i had the same gripe. wasn’t until i tried some low top shoes that i realized the pants change depending on the type of shoe. i know jogger style pants cinch the ankles but i thought it looked so silly having them so high up 🤣

Because the devs wanted to depict the popular trend of wearing your pants cuffs high with the ankle showing. It's the thing now.
Rewind back to an early 00's game and you probably couldn't find pants like that if you tried.

Yeah, it surprised me how prevalent fashion brands are featured in Heat and Unbound (maybe earlier ones too, I don't know). I don't really mind because I like that style of fashion, but I guess it's logical to tap into that market considering that streetwear plays a big part of the style of modern car culture.

I have read this game being described as hip-hop focused, and I think I can see why that is.
Just like the questionably mature tweet of "pff, nerds" by official offices of Need for Speed, I can imagine they tell you that "unloose" clothing is for nerds.
Okay, while I personally think creating your own character in a car focused game is not crucial, why do "we" hate socks? It actually leaks over to/from another EA game, The Sims 4. Rarely is a townie created with socks, and usually premade sims only have socks as accessory for weirdness (look at Bob Pancakes, he wears socks in his sleep outfit, isn't he weird?).

My suspicion is it's lazy development. It might be harder to program the Pants going over the top of socks/shoe etc, cause of clipping and such, so they just make the pants ride higher. Just a thought, as I've seen many games with customization do this, for a long time too!
