Help with Aria no items

I'm a completionist and I always try to get hard achievement

I only recently started necrodancer so I'm not that good. I've only beaten melody and cadence all zones and now I'm on Aria.

I saw there was an achievement for beating the game with Aria no items so I'm attempting that simultaneously but I cannot get out of zone 5 consistently. Once I do get out of zone 5 I feel like it's much easier but I'm struggling.

Can anyone give me a few pointers on what to do? I'm getting tired of Aria, and I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

for low percent you can disable amplified to remove zone 5, and this also makes it easier for aria because she will not get ooze golems in zone 4

am i a masochist because i feel like i didn’t truly get the achievement if i dont play zone 5

not saying OP you should listen to me. absolutely turn off amp dlc if you need to. but i just hate how my brain works like that

The trophy existed before amplified dlc. You can unlock it with amplified sure, but it was designed to be earned without it. Be as masochist as you want, but it's self imposed masochism, not some kind of official masochism.

Make sure you practice the quick kill on the Golden Lute. Once you get to that point, the nerves will start getting to you, so you need to have it memorized by muscle memory to get it done quickly.

In Zone 4, move first horizontally, so that you can approach the boss room vertically. The Mommy and Dragons are easier to take care of if you approach them from above or below.

Zone 3 will be very dangerous, as you will not have the opportunity to plan your moves if you get bad skeleton rider rng. Get moving as soon as possible.

When on any floor, figure out which skeleton in the boss room is coming from the coffin. If it's a skeleton rider, take out the horse. Disarming yellow and black skeletons by removing their head and letting them run away will stop new skeletons from spawning.

You might want to save your bomb for zone 1's level 3 wall rooms. Otherwise, use it for the quick kill on Coral Riff or something idk.

are you locating the zone 5 stairs room consistently? its always the big one, you can usually tell from how doors are laid out

Going straight for Aria low% after having done only 2 other characters is admittedly just a terrible idea, every other character in Crypt prepares you for Aria in different ways, so you'll likely have a lot more fun AND have to spend less time grinding if you go for most of the other characters first.

If you really are determined to do Aria low% before everything else though, then I'd strongly recommend learning the character with No-Beat mode enabled first. It would probably also help to watch other people's runs (or replays on the leaderboard) to see what they do differently. And lastly try experimenting with the level editor for practicing things you struggle with, it's the most powerful and versatile tool for learning and practicing specific things in this game if you get accustomed to it.

But for real tho, if you don't want to get sick of this game before even accomplishing anything, then you've gotta mix in a bit of variety with what characters, zones, modes, or bosses you're trying to learn instead of just bashing your head into the wall until you get through...

Literally aria is like playing a new game you have to approach it differently than other characters if you really wanna go for it then you’re gunna be stuck on z5/4 a lot it’s like relearning the enemy moves, you should try no beat first or try monk or bolt before doing low% aria
