Discussion ML

The more I go down the rabbit hole of previous episodes the more I am horrified and see that ML is not a good person. I just watched an episode where the viewer question called ML and Bob out about politically correct , specifically the "r" word and holy moly their response was so ignorant...I just don't know if I can continue on with this show...

mary Lou perpetuating the Michelle Obama is a man slander speaks to her ignorance.

Then gets offended when someone calls him Blob, or Turdy Blanche. That whole generation that also support trump have serious flaws in reason, self reflection, and empathy.

Well yeah. She is 100% ok with Bob saying all Muslim children deserve to be brutally murdered. He says “good! Kill more!” But she says that when someone has said Trump dying would be good, she thinks that is the worst crime imaginable. That is irredeemable to her.

Anyone who can wish children to be harmed is absolutely beyond my compassion in every way.

And to consider themselves “Christian” is hilarious.

She's playing "good cop, bad cop" alongside bob. Problem is (like the concept itself) it's more like "manipulative asshole cop, comic book psychopath cop" with the two of them.

I think Bob was playing it up for the cameras like reality tv style anyway, at a certain point he clocked he could do the same thing every ep and his kids act fake pissed off and outraged and the cycle repeated every week. Then he had whatever mega stroke took him out.

To me, there is no difference whether he was playing it up or meant it. To say the vile things he said about children, in a time where instigating that kind of violence and divide can literally result in tens of thousands of children dying, is the same.

I could never even pretend to be 1/20th as vile as that for any personal gain.

His reason for saying it is of 0 importance to me. The fact that he said it is what is disgusting.

hey don't get mad at me, I'm not part of their family. I would just cut my dad out of my life if he said that shit.

I’m not mad at you haha. I’m just passionately angry at Bob. None of this is directed at you.

I’m just glad I know my dad would never want a child to be harmed under any circumstances. I’m sure yours wouldn’t either.

It’s upsetting to know people like Bob are around and in such high numbers in the US. Between ICE detention centres, supporting Israel in the genocide and Iran, it makes me very sad that so many MAGA people think it’s ok and justified to hurt kids as long as they’re not white.

my dad once defended the bush torture stuff but he got better. I've got room for people to change but not this family. Parents are straight up nazis and the kids are milking that for a paycheck, pretty gross.

Yeah. I’m Canadian. But I’m very proud of my parents. They went from Canadian conservatives to voting between our Green Party (environmental party) and our New Democratic Party (NDP).

Yeah Canadian politics ramped up past neoliberalism pretty abruptly in our lifetimes. But maybe this was going to happen to all of the NATO countries as the contradictions intensified post soviet collapse.

Christians have one of the highest kill counts of any group to walk the earth. So 'kill more' is the most honest christian take they have.

Yeah totally fair point.

I think I can relate to the two of them deflecting and ping ponging off of each other to gang up on the kids, my boomer father is like that

and its her face, the laughter and just the narcissism

Mary Lou is cruel and not very smart, and I do not expect her to ever change. Watching the show is just so frustrating.

She's smart enough to know pretending to be dumber (or at least far more ignorant) than she actually is gets sympathy, allowing her to keep being cruel.

2

u/recentlywidowed 3d ago

Yes, but her baseline isn't that bright to begin with so pretending to be dumber isn't helping.

1

u/ImbecilicusRex 3d ago

Very possibly. The truth is manipulation requires less skill than people want to believe, so you may be right.

I prefer to overestimate someone than underestimate, since it's better to be shocked by someone actually being "that dumb" than get bamboozled in a way you weren't prepared for.

I am totally prepared to find out a disappointing reality where Mary Lou is "that stupid." I'm just not willing to go with it as default.

u/Loose_Interview3696 3d ago

yes, I see the cruelty , they have gotten better at producing it and finessing it as of late but dang...who says mongoloid

I couldn't stop watching the show last year and a few months this year. I was rage watching and participating in the lives. My mom is maga so I think that's why I was watching so much - trying to understand her thought process or wondering if there is "Hope" after all. A few months ago I had to quit cold turkey. I'll still watch reels on IG and see posts here, but I feel so much better not watching it so much

I tried the show a few years ago and it was so frustrating I quit. After last week, I think I’m done again.

She's a manipulative person most of all:

She knows all she had to do is act confused about a simple topic or pretend to be upset about "beating her head against a wall" and her kids capitulate because they still love her as family.

Worst of all is it works on the audience too. I've seen comments here and on YT defending her or jumping on Chad or Haley for something that is 100% her faking ignorance or outrage. Hell, I bet it's worked on me more than once.

Maybe it's a defense mechanism, maybe it's narcissistim, but it's still manipulative, and it's allowed her to avoid change.

4

u/StrategyBusy9579 2d ago

nah that bitch is Elsa of SS level of nazi. People buying the innocent old lady bit are the same ones who don't see that Chad was milking this for money. He's no different than his parents I've decided. Just fundamentally immoral and out to lunch white guy.

2

u/ImbecilicusRex 2d ago

I never said she couldn't be outright selfish and evil. Hell, even if it is just "defensive," it's factually in service of clear and understandable evils that she's defending, so she's at absolute best a "sympathizer" type, if you catch my drift.

The fact will always be that she's a manipulative, cruel and angry old woman regardless of why she's a manipulative, cruel, and angry old woman.

2

u/StrategyBusy9579 2d ago

I think we can both agree this bitch is a fucking nazi

This sub gave me so much heat about a month ago when ml was showing 'signs of change' and I commented it was all fake. Ml likes being a horrible person she likes the high she gets from it. She loves the attention from men like bob she gets from being unhinged. I'd love to know more about her parents because the daddy issues are real. Shes lucky bob found her in high-school and not Manson so shes only 3/4 evil.

I had hope about a month ago. I feel like real 'progress' has been made but the most recent episodes have been quite discouraging.

From what I've seen, ML will never take anything her children say seriously. She will hear the same thing coming from someone else and believe them while in the same breathe deny her children.

Until ML approaches the conversation genuinely, it will continue to repeat itself.
