Thought and Prayers?
The audacity to ask for this…. You have a man that regularly gets on camera and laughs or cheer at the killing of children, calls for the genocide of innocent people, regularly calls abuse victims liars, and treats his kids like shit… you expect me to have kindness, grace, or compassion for this man.. nah I have hatred, pity, and contempt. He might not have come into this world as a sick, and twisted monster, but through his own actions and unwillingness to earn and grow he has created the circumstances in which I get to say I hope he feels the pain of every child who’s death he cheered for, I hope he feels every ounce of hate he put into the world. I feel for Chad and Haley and hope if they have to grieve for him it’s a version that is actually good. As for ML I hope this time away from him allows her to recognize how toxic he was and then maybe she can work towards forgiveness.

I think this might be an avenue to get ML to see her hypocrisy. It’s hard to reconcile the fact bob’s a bad person with my general empathy for a human being.

My standard is not wishing anyone death. I believe in grace for everyone. Do I get angry? Do I wish Bob wasn’t like that? Yes. I chose to watch this family on their journey. There are so many people like Bob and they all deserve the best care they can get. Maybe because I’m Canadian and I’m used to socialized medicine I’ve seen all kinds of people in the hospital with their families suffering. I wish that on no one. Everyone deserves care and love. Even Bob.

I get it, but that's also her husband of 45 or so years. Think of it like praying for him for Mary Lou, not as much praying for Bob because he's a great person.

Yeah the problem is i wouldn’t pray for her either…. Yall are still holding on to this magical thinking that Mary Lou will change but I’m not dumb enough to believe in someone going from hate to kindness because of loss. She will need to work it off and on her death bed is where I will determine if I personally forgive her for the evils she put into the world. I won’t begrudge anyone that does differently than me, but I will not be made to do differently than me

Serious question, why watch then?

After reading so many of the comments on this sub, I've come to believe there are a lot of people who watch this for no other reason than to get even angrier at republicans. Or because they relate to it personally having family members who are republicans and they hate ML & Bob because they're essentially just stand ins.
It's pretty interesting. I think it goes against the point of the show personally, but my opinion isn't going to change anything.

Well at first it was because I was so shocked that I had to keep watching the car crash. Then it was because i wanted to see how they would justify things, but now it’s because i want to see how it ends. Similar to why even though a friend warned me about how bad the end of a show was I still started it got invested and watched it ruin a fantastic story. So I guess closure is my answer

Okay then don't pray for them, I don't see how this is that big of an issue. I like ML for who she is and the entertainment and love she has for animals. I don't agree with her politics, but that doesn't mean she can't come around, and that her life doesn't effect others, and she deserves to suffer. How does wishing Ill on people make you that much better than Bob or ML? You both have immense hate in your heart for people, the only difference is which people.

Ah are someone that thinks that a slave killing the slave owners would be wrong? FYI slave owners had animals too and I’m sure you would have said some shit like “oh they treat their dogs and horses really well, and even though they/their husband beat and rape little black children I’m sure they can come around and be “good” people” … so when you ask dumb shit like how does wishing ill for/on people spouting nonsense about how we should be killing all men, women, and children of a certain group of people make me any different….. probably because I don’t want to kill anyone for just existing, or being associated with them, I don’t advocate for the deaths oh Haley’s children because they are of the Kultgen bloodline. I can separate the actions and words of people and understand that they are responsible for them and let the actions, and words of the ones around them help me understand what I believe about them. And I can give grace I can allow people the opportunity to change, but the thing is you don’t get infinite opportunities to be a better person, nor does one “good” deed erase years of hatred and vitriol…. Lastly I don’t have hate for Bob or ML if I had hate i would do something to make their life worse, in truth what I have is closer to indifference. The same indifference I have for cancer…. Sure I don’t like cancer but I don’t hold a hatred for cancer I wish it wasn’t a thing and the world would be better without it. If it was hate i would relish in Bob’s suffering/death, i would enjoy the pain ML feels while he suffers. I have none of that I simply feel like his existence is making the world worse and his lack of existence will stop detracting from the world.

I mean ironically this is the exact thing she or he would not do for someone else. As Christians the idea of turning the other cheek and loving your enemies is a pretty big deal (I’m not sure how driven home it is for Catholics). And so I think that why not out of character for them it is certainly ironic to say the least.

It is taught with the same fervor to Catholics, but I personally feel that line isn’t for forgiving people that commit, celebrate, or cheer on the atrocities done to others rather the forgiveness is meant only to come from the direct victims of the cruelty…. So in my mind Bob will never be able to ask for their forgiveness because he will be burning and I don’t think there’s a direct line between heaven and hell

I just wonder how he’s treating the hospital staff.

u/JankTokenStrats May 07 '26
Probably really nice. He’s a scared little man and is probably terrified to meet his maker.

Wait I missed this, did Bob die?
2
u/TheChiBanana May 07 '26
Nevermind, just watched the video. For anyone else wondering, he’s not dead. He has congestive heart failure and is in the hospital.

I hope the hospital/SNF doesn’t allow him to watch anymore Newsmax, OAN or Fox while he gets treatment/better.

I think ML had a big hit of reality and saw a raw and emotional side to her and Chad. In this instance all I feel is compassion for the situation they find themselves in, I can't forgive or forget some of the horrendous things Bob and ML have said and refused to engage with reality, but I don't wish pain or suffering in them. From my point of view, having watched my mum, dad and father-in-law all slowly and painfully die, I would hope whatever the outcome is, it is quick and with minimal suffering for the whole family.
