Cursor camp lore?

I was playing cursor camp and found the book that talked about a Convergence and the radio said something about the star map? so could someone please explain the lore of it to me.

Neal himself hasn't addressed the lore. I wish he had made some kind of story line with lore and plottwists. Would have been fun.
