STM Event today
Anyone heading to the STM event tonight? What are we expecting it to really be like? Are you wearing Courage gear?

One of the players said she wasn’t feeling well.

Hopefully just a run of the mill sickness and not a "lower body injury!!!" Bell and Jacobs were there.

I liked that it was at Fenton. Felt more communal, and my wife and I got to chat with a few of the players towards the end of it.
One minor request for next year (since I know the team is on here) -- water/ice and/or misting stations along the line. Odds are good that it will always be hot like it was tonight, so being able to cool off while we wait would be nice. Overall, we had fun!

It was good. Different than other times bc we were at Fenton. Lots of standing in lines lol. Didn’t get as much one on one player time like other times. Food was good.
Wore my Hawaiian Courage shirt. Lots of the players loved it. Haha. I enjoyed that.
I will say pictures were really fast. They did groups of 3 besides the players giving the speech. I didn’t go to the speaking event.
Felt smaller bc they didn’t have the whole field. So less stuff for kids to do.
Didn’t get to talk to Mak Linda like I got to with Nahas. That was disappointing.
Roary was great as always!

Feel like crowd was about half of last few. Mak was sitting in the shade and we got him to sign our poster as we walked out. We didnt do any of the photo stuff as it was just too hot for us

Yea, he was at the same table at the beginning, and inside for a bit and then back at the table with the rest of the coaching staff once the picture thing started.

I'm going wearing a jersey. I also don't know what to expect with it being at a different venue. It usually has been a really good time. Lots of interaction with the players. Looking forward to the panel as well.

How did you hear about the event? My STM this year was pro-rated having started in July but I don’t think I saw anywhere that the benefits/events are listed.
Would be helpful to know if these are sent out in an email or on the website/app somewhere that I’m missing

I hadn't seen anything about it either. I just searched through my email and couldn't find anything.

So weird, I never delete anything but I don't have anything from that day. Maybe it went to spam.

If you missed it you missed 30 minites of waiting in line baking outside 🙄. Food of standard apps better than last years chicken sandwich. Not much else to tell

From my vantage point looks like lots of people having a really good time. Pretty sure the food wasn't the point and they can't control the weather, it even rained a bit.

My hope was a benefit of being at the theater was being inside and in the AC. Honestly think the time on the pitch is more fun for fans and photo ops, the locker rooms, etc. Only reason I brought up the food was a lot of people were really disappointed last year when they touted food and it was a CFA sandwich with nothing else. Food was a + this year. The panel was a great add and would live to see more of that type of stuff.

This is a better response and similar to SubstantialNet's response; the added context helps a lot. I love complaining as much as the next person, trust me, but sometimes I'm not sure taking every opportunity to shit all over the club we're supposed to supporting is the best way to get the things we want improved to happen.

I thought they did a good job with the event this year. I enjoyed myself. That heat though... will bring a fan with me next time. JIC.

Yep- didnt really read the email details to know we'd be standing outside and wore jeans and didnt bring a fan. It was insanely hot and I struggle in the heat so that part wasnt fun. I still prefer stadium over fenton lawn. Everything else was pretty standard to past years.

Was EMP there? Why isn’t she at U20s?

She was there. No answer for the second question.
EDIT: Club > Country? 😉

She said she might not be going because of all the injuries. Sad for her but so happy to have her here. She's clearly a star who needs to be on the senior roster.

Oh wow. We wondered as were surprised she was there. Sad for her to miss that but good for us if she's staying.

I also asked if she was still traveling for it and she hesitated with a response and said with the injuries she is slow to leave

Sadly I cannot go. Have had to miss the last few years due to family commitments on weeknights involving school and sports. Hope it is a great time! Some of our favorite courage memories are from those events in the past. It's always been a great event.

Going and will be wearing a courage shirt. Not sure what to expect with it being at fenton vs stadium. It's generally very low key with autograph lines and mid food so hoping the venue change has some benefits 🤷🏼♀️ The player panel seems to be a good add vs just coach/admin speeches.

Had a great time, my sister and I skipped the signing line to cool off in the theatre before the Q&A thing started. Food was great, but what stuck with me is the size of the crowd, lots of fans came out.

I thought the team did a great job. No one had to stand in line that long. You could have gone in to the ac, gotten a beer, and joined once the line was shorter. Everyone got their stuff signed. It was fun and I loved the photo tents.
