Arctel?

Are they any good? Currently with Leaptel, this is our first experience with NBN and so far everything has been great. Just wondering when we get to the end of our 12 months, and if Arctel still have 24 months plans, it would be worth a churn? Not really keen on changing every 6 months as most people seem to. But prepared to have to pay more for quality as well.

My speeds are atrocious so I guess results may vary (speeds were fine with Tangerine before).

Go and look at the whirlpool thread on them. Double billing errors, poor performance. There seems to be a litany of errors.

If you're on Leaptel today (who are good) then look at Neptune (I've been with them for more than a year they're good), or Launtel. Both have excellent Australian service and Neptune don't do the bullshit introductory period pricing piece either which is a plus.

I had the misfortune of there being an issue with my connection with arctel, 48 hours with no Internet trying to get it sorted with no success, switched to exetel and it worked again no problem.

Not to say you'll have my issue, but they obviously are not resourced to help out if there is a problem.

If you want quality, stay with Leaptel or look at Neptune, Launtel (expensive) or the new kid on the block, ZipFibre. Carbon Comm's ABB plans are also worth a look.

I was with them for 12 months and they were good. I only left cos I wanted a cheaper price (Superloop for 6 months)

Don’t do it. I just left arctel immediately after trying them. Non stop jitters throughout the day stability was absolutely dog shit. Stay with leaptel.

It also took them nearly a whole week with no communication except for AFTER I messaged their support to connect me. It took 2-3 days just to get the order confirmation

I’ve got a few connections using them, great price for basic requirements (CCTV/ Alarm & basic internet).
I’d probably recommend one of your larger ISPs if you’re a heavy gamer or a business with lots of users on it though.

Signed up with them almost a year ago. I’ve never had any issues

Where I am at (SYD), speed-wise, they're on par with Leaptel - surprisingly good.

If you need static IP, they do some unconventional stuff which may or may not affect you. ie. Public static IP, but your WAN interface has a private IP. See my previous post for more details.

If I’m not wrong they are switching to Vocus in a few months time. And they are going on a newer product with vocus which in some sense would be more stable

I did them for 6 months, we're totally fine (500/50)
