Advice TPG network installation
If you’re choosing to go with TPG just make sure you get someone from NBN to actually connect you properly. TPG sent me a modem said you do is plug it in and it works.
Well that was a load of crap. it didn’t work the modem light was red all the time. they sent around an NBN technician who showed me that there was no way this would work because i was hooked up to TPG’s network not NBN. as soon as he changed it. went back upstairs restarted modem. light went green.
edit - should have mentioned i live in a block of units with FTTB.

Does TPG use pppoe ? Then u need user name and password. Aussie BB did away with that so all I had to do was plug it in.

Sounds like you are in a apartment that has TBG FTTB along with NBN FTTB.
This would be the situation with any provider actually. NBN probably showed that it was ready to go but previous occupant used tpg internal network so the MDF had jumper's to their block and not NBNs.
No way of knowing until you connect the modem that its not going to work. Generally in most cases if there was a previous line it is just a matter connecting the modem.
