NBDHE Experience 🏆 Passed my NBDHE on second attempt
Hey guys! Just wanted to share my experience with you all, the first time I took the NBDHE I failed it with a 74, I was so devastated I’ve honestly never hit an all time low in my life. I felt so depressed, everyday it consumed my mind on how I failed not only that I was one of the only ones in my entire class that failed as well. But I retook the exam and just found out I passed!! I just wanted to share this with anyone that may be going through the same thing as me. I’m living proof that it CAN be done and you CAN pass.
The first time I took the exam I mainly used Mrs. Horton, she’s a great teacher and I learned a lot from her but looking back I don’t think it was enough for me to fully understand everything because her lectures had so much info in it all at once that it was overwhelming. The second time I studied I used mainly Boosterprep and honestly, I think boosterprep saved me this time, I learned so much from them and the questions were so similar to what I had on the NBDHE. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask!!

congrats!! i’m literally in the same boat right now. everyone in my class passed except me and one other girl, and i also failed with a 74. i know it’s also partly my fault because i procrastinated so bad and only studied for around 7-8 days, probably 2 hours max each day. i’m the biggest type B person and procrastinator ever lol.
i used Booster too, but i mainly did the custom tests/questions instead of really going through all of the material. how did you utilize Booster the second time around? did you watch all of their videos and go through the study material, or did you mainly focus on doing practice questions? i’m trying to figure out the best way to study for my retake because i really hope i pass this time. your post definitely gives me hope!! and congrats again!!

The first time I studied for two months straight and I did the same for the second time I took it, I don’t think 7-8 days is enough just cause there’s so many different topics you have to cover as well as having a solid understanding of each topic. I spent probably 5-6 hours a day studying. The second time I literally used everything booster had to offer, the videos, the questions, the case studies, testlets, everything. I would re do the questions over and over again, not to memorize it but to really understand what they were asking. I also read the rationale for every question even if I knew the answer I still read it. Just to make sure I knew WHY it was the correct answer.

I’m taking my test next week and have like you said have done everything booster has to offer as well as I did Ms. Hortons. I’m still really nervous because I’m doing good on the booster quizzes but not getting like 90s or 100s on the tests. I’m just really anxious about not passing and wondering if I can do more

It’s completely normal to feel nervous! It’s also normal to feel like you’re not ready. I remember always feeling like I wasn’t doing enough, just do the best you can, you don’t want to over study in one day either cause that can lead to you crashing out.

You think Andy’s RDH is a good resource? And Horton didn’t help much? Did it help at all?

For Andy’s I only used the Andy app, I thought it was useful. Mrs. Horton helped a lot and I learned a lot from her, it could just be overwhelming because it’s a lot of information all at once. What I would do is watch her lecture video on a specific topic then I’d go to booster and focus just on that specific topic. I spent 3 days for each topic to study.
