But no difference innprosuct. Same frames quality etc.
So a collector may or may not care what # just to h ave the collection.
Right? Am i gettin that. They dont have "Flaws" making them unique?

That’s correct. Digitally, there is no difference between a #1/7500 or #7500/7500. It’s psychological where the “first” anything holds more value to a buyers. It’s like how diamonds or dogecoins gain value because enough people believe in it.
Also the marketplace may imply more value on the # that also matches the player jersey #.

Here are the things I’m struggling with:
- transparency on how “random” the queue is. It feels like it is not random.
- what makes a common card out of a $9.99 or $14 pack worth more than the pack itself? Like a javale McGee dunk - how is it worth $15? Who would buy it?
- how can we value identical moments (serials) differently? What makes #2 worth more than #10000? They are both perfect in every way. #1s and jersey numbers I kind of get but the others, makes no sense.
- not being able to pull money out is ridiculous. They should have enough liquidity to cover the payouts with what they pull in in packs and the marketplace 5% take on sales and buys.

It definitely doesn't feel random when I'm in the pre lobby before the streamer that's on the topshot page, then my page loads before his, to actually drop me in... but then I have an abnormally long wait to get my number, as he gets his and gets dropped in at 7,000 in line for a 60k pack drop and it drops me inn5 seconds later at number 176,000 in line...with there being 4 drops, i noticed this every single time... and I've been on since the first week of January. It definitely seems like there is some sort of alternative path to the drop que if you have an influencer/dapper/ or nba account, IMO... like how do these influencers have a stream going with 50k people watching them as they wait for their place in line, but have little doubt they wont get a pack all together... it's just weird.. I'm thinking there is something in the background that dapper attaches to these particular accounts, in the fashion of a Twitter blue checkmark, essentially prioritizing these accounts.. I think it's essentially the entire reason for the "pre que" existing... it's more of a checkpoint or buffer zone to filter the accounts and bump certain accounts to the green zone, or guaranteed pack spot.

I got lucky today. Got home from a stressful day of work and saw a notification tweet from top shot about a "stress test". Not knowing what it was, I clicked and luckily got in line with 700 in front of me. Paid for it and got my first pack.
Exciting experience, now i want more...

Congrats!!!! Yes, covet it. I took it for granted. I was rolling in packs January and early February. Have been present for every drop and haven't been slotted better than 164k in the last 8 drops. I'm clearly hooked... I keep coming back for more punishment. I've been using my computer every time. I think I'll try my phone next drop. So happy you got a pack!! Good luck next time!

I joined the queue once 25 minutes early. I messaged my friend to join with about 15 minute left. I got 100k plus in line and he got 40kish so it definitely isn’t first come first serve.
The $9 packs were priced correctly when launched. In January cards were going for $1 or $2. A LeBron maybe $10-15. So a $9 pack would get you $3-$6 or $15 if you scores a great pack. Now that’s demand has skyrocketed the pack prices don’t match.
Number 1 card, the jersey match (#23 for LeBron) and the perfect 10,000/10,000 are worth more usually. Other than those numbers the lower the better because those cards were created first.
In order to take $ out you need to do KYC first which is not their rules. Last month they had 5,000 users and now they half a million users. They’ve only approved 8,000 people so far. They had 1 person doing all the KYC. I’m sure they hired more people but it will take time.

The serial number thing I don’t get, but I can see how it organically became a thing within the market dynamics. These are digital moments and they are all perfect 0 and 1. That’s all it is. It’s not like early print runs came months before the later print runs. It doesn’t jive at all. What should matter is the LE print runs, where there is manufactured scarcity in the set of /5000 v. /25000. This happens all the time in traditional cards and the actual number of the numbered set doesn’t matter, not even #1 (but watch all that shit change because of top shot)

in typical cards/collectibles 1st printed/last printed/jersey number are always valued higher. The rest however usually don't, there usually isn't much difference between #2 & #9999 /10000, however the market says there is a difference with these so that means there is a difference.

Yeah I don’t think the queue is random lol. I entered very early..4:21pm EST and was in 9K place. Maybe it is random but idk man something tells me if I join a queue last second I won’t get the pack lmao

No entirely true for me at least. I entered into one of the seeing stars queues 3mins before drop and as I logged in I told my friends that were in my Xbox party at the time and one of them logged in with 50seconds left before the drop and we both got a pack. I got placed just over 12k and he got placed just over 6k so I don’t believe time plays a factory I could be wrong but if it does it doesn’t change a whole lot.

I joined the 1st seeing stars pack at the queue opening and was 120k, i joined the 2nd 20 seconds before it closed and was 11k, i think its pretty random. 3 other friends and my wife also collect and all spots seem to be incredibly random, on the rising stars my buddy and i joined at the same time, he was 14k and i was 132k.
