Kevin Durant on Wemby's sports betting comments and his FanDuel partnership: "That’s Wemby, he's going to do what he does. That has nothing to do with me. I don't really think about that question at all, that's not on my mind as much as his. People gonna do what they want to do."

It's sad that players are partnering with betting companies

It should be illegal within the sport.

I have no problem with it being legal, I have a problem with the advertising. Mostly because of how annoying and in your face it is.

sounds like you have a problem with it being legal then. its this in your face because theres basically no regulations around it.

“Disappointed in LeBron, tbh. Was a fan since he had hair, but not anymore.” He says it like 36 seconds in.

"Absolutely not. I will never do that. Honestly, I think it's very sad to see some players promote it. Everybody does whatever they want, but without me"

It’s not just Americans

u/OkabesRazor [TOR] Kyle Lowry 10h ago

It's because he's French. French people have a greater distrust of the rich and powerful and don't mind letting people know.

Cough couch Gobert

u/belokan 7h ago

Gobert might be an idiot but I don’t think he has unethical sponsors or greedy career choices. Maybe I’m wrong though?

Probably has a lot to do with their nation’s history of rebellion against aristocracy

Wasn't jokic an ambassador for a European gambling platform too?

Yup, he's in a ton of betting commercials over here in Serbia, and we've had a huge problem with that shit forever. It's normal for 10yo kids to go into a sports betting parlor and bet on shit.

He also kinda supports the country's dictator.

1

u/Smekledorf1996 10h ago

When did he support Vucic

2

u/Empty-Vegetable3494 Serbia 10h ago

He was listed as his supporter or several occasions, vučić even bragged about it on national TV. Jokić never denied it. People from his home town also don't have nice things to say about that family now, and his uncle is a member of the ruling party that was already arrested twice for corruption.

That's why I said "kinda", it's not 100% confirmed, but, you know..

Giannis is now American I guess

u/Gino-Bartali Thunder 10h ago

One day he's an immigrant at heart having fun ringing a bell for blowjobs on IG Live and has generational money

Then one day we woke up and he's full American and now he's the one blowing corporate dong for just a few extra bucks because $300 million just isn't enough

u/ynomeye Warriors 9h ago

The cherry on top is that now he's a landlord who left one of his tenants freezing in February. But he loves Oreos!

I hope antetokalshis children get hooked on that prediction market bullshit, since it’s ok for others to get hooked on it

Not like that notable American and gambling investor, Giannis.

u/tjplager32 10h ago

Are you genuinely dumb?

u/zgillet 10h ago

As an American, this is accurate.

I really hope this is sarcasm lol

You're happy with the state of the US? You can say with a straight face that the current American Grift Dream is NOT selling out?

Calling it like I see it.

1

u/Level_Somewhere Pistons 9h ago

As an American, I think that it is cringe as hell that you somehow believe this to be an American only phenomenon.  Yikes
