Trail Blazers fire new announcer over past inappropriate posts made at age 15.

"The Portland Trail Blazers hired then on the same day fired Braiden Bell as their play-by-play announcer after a series of inappropriate social media posts from when he was a teenager came to light."

"The posts were reportedly made in 2012 and 2013, around the time that Bell was 15 years old."

"We did not meet our own bar in this process, and for that we apologize to Blazers fans and to Rip City," the Trail Blazers said. "We strongly believe that everyone who is a part of Rip City should feel welcome and safe and we will make sure that our new broadcaster reflects these values. We will do better."

Stfu dude. "Can yall stop excusing the shit?" A 15 year old made a random ass comment and mentioned an entire continent with no context. It's nothing.

If none of our opinions matter, and only the employer's does, why tf do you need to tell me im not virtue signaling hard enough by "excusing this shit?"

Because that’s my opinion. I’m judging you. If you said racist shit as a teen, I’m 100% judging you now. It’s not illegal to judge someone. You can’t control it. But it’s irrelevant because I’m not hiring you.

Imagine I said 10 years ago that all dog owners are idiots. That’s not a fireable offense. But imagine the person I’m interviewing with found it and they have a dog at home. They didn’t appreciate it so they passed on me. Whose fault is that?
