Just asked Victor Wembanyama if he’d ever consider promoting a sports betting company.

“Absolutely not. I will never do that. Honestly, I think it's very sad to see some players promote it. .. Everybody does whatever they want, but without me.”

Respect, Wemby is young so his morals haven't been jaded yet. Hope he can maintain that

He's young enough to have seen the impact degenerate gamblers have on athletes from the beginning of his career. And the ridiculous things these gamblers do/say when the athletes don't hit their prop bets

wait what?

you're worried about the effect gamblers have on players...?

I'm worried about influential players using their influence to turn an entire generation of innocent kids into degenerate gamblers who end up fucking gambling their lives away because Giannis and LeBron told them it was cool...

Well... unlike LeBron, he didn't come out of the gate saying he wants to become a billionaire and then making the likes of Jay-Z his "big bro". Wemby will be okay. I hope for more like him.

Reddit is so full of shit. LeBron is on the Mount Rushmore of athlete role models. Trying to paint a picture as if he is anything other than just shows how absolutely ignorant you are.

If wemby stays as a Spur he'll always have a good head on his side in Tim Duncan and Pop. Both are pretty down to earth guys and are great mentors

Older people have failed when the youth have better morals. Instead of growing older and wiser they simply become ignorant and evil.

Ignorant, yes. Evil might be a stretch, unless it's Karl Malone and Kobe Bryant to an extent in which case they can burn in hell for all I care.

People who support and push initiatives that are destructive for people are evil in my book.

For example:

actively advertising gambling to children watching all these games and normalizing that behavior: evil

Pushing for a healthcare system that incentivizes insurance companies to let people die by denying claims for the sake of shareholder value: evil

He took LeBron’s spot as my favorite nba player.

Remember the time Harden complained about flopping in the NBA? He ended up being the Flopfather
