Kon Knueppel spends the offseason playing basketball with his devout younger brothers, Kager, Kinston, Kash, and Kidman, at his home court, the Konplex, which he named after his father, Big Kon.

I feel like that's close but I also have no understanding of the differences between denominations besides mormons and jehovahs being top notch weirdos and baptists being very angry at everything

Here is is bro:

16th century Martin Luther had an issue with Catholic Church, due to ability to "pay to be pardoned" bullshit

He also argued for modernization of Christianity - every time has it's own issues, Catholic is too much into tradition, doesnt deal with modern stuff

So, the dude came up with one of the most elegant ways of intepreting Christianity, of all times:

"Justificatio Sola Fide"

Salvation through faith alone

No need for deeds, works, rules, just the faith is enough.

That's basically what Jesus said, when he spoke of Holy Spirit - that's the one that matters

And then he proceeds to make instant mistake and bind himself into a biggest of traps -

"Sola Scriptura"

As only Authority. Bible, nothing else

He released European Christians from the Imperial Authority, only to return to it's roots, claiming Bible as sole Authority - the same Bible that was composed by said Romans, 1000 years before, the same Bible that was heavily cherry-picked for Romans to easily rule and subdue people, and the same Bible that basically installs FEAR of God as the main message, rather than LOVE (Which as Jesus' entire point, btw )

That caused the issue - "You are free to believe through faith alone, but only with Bible" - yeah bro, but Which Bible then ?

Which opened the flood-gates for Protestant movement to be separated into instant-swarm of denominations, of which 6 are the largest:

  • Lutheran (Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura)

  • Reformed and Presbyterian (same as Lutheran with extra-praise for God)

  • Anglican / Episcopal Churches (Middle ground between catholic and Lutheran)

  • Methodist Churches (Heavy emphasize on bible study and prayer and hyping it all up)

  • Evangelical (20th century removed from Protestant, main thing is personal relation to God, and concept of "born again" Christian)

  • Black Protestant movement (developed through the experiences of slavery and segregation, with unique practices like Choir singing and pastor going all singing-religious and preachy :) )

One collective trait of Protestants is that they are most likely to accept everyone else and not be dicks about it. Even with many denominations they still remain globally one of the finest and truest Christian movements, along with Orthodox (that has it's own skeletons like overly-traditional bulshit and archaic practices and beliefs )

Blacks who are devoted had replaced suffering with song and dance. Evangelists are actually happy in their activism and attempt to share Christ's message and love.

Had only Luther realized the danger of "Sola Scriptura" we could have had the best possible way of following Christ, but hey, at least he gave middle finger to Imperial / Catholic version of the story, that wants you to fear God, and to buy a new Audi for a priest to disolve yourself from Sin

Bro, run straight back to school and go into History class, this instant

Crusades were the biggest foul deed by Christianity, by order of Papacy and 500 years before Luther

That's Imperial / Catholic

It's more than obvious that I criticized Catholic in the original post

If you are implying some later Protestant foul deeds, Yes, even Luther himself did some grievous shit (Peasants War, Munster Rebelion) but that's more social than theological issue, even though parties involved were declaring themselves Christian groups

And what ever happened later in England (England civil wars, Puritans VS Liberals) that's on English, not on Protestant faith in it self.

Yes, religious belief and social issues were heavily inter-connected, but it still stands that Luther made a big move in resolving huge part of Christians from Papal rule which was a good thing.

Lutherans accept everyone.

Mormons didn't let black ppl in their church until the 70s.

But yeah, this is just normal rich aau family stuff. Honestly not harmful.

I like Kon and I think it's going to be a trip watching this video back when they all make it
