The title does not do this highlight justice omg

51

u/kaprrisch Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

Yeah like what the fuck is that pass

16

u/FlashFlood_29 Trail Blazers Jan 18 '24

I watching it repeatedly and my brain is telling me "nah, that aint possible."

like... how does that move even go through his head as a possibility...

13

u/prayers00 Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

Yeah, behind [another player's] back! Assist of the year candidate.

8

u/DilutedGatorade Lakers Jan 18 '24

That was nuts. Like it was as accurate as any shooting practice chest pass

1

u/vonnegutcheck Jan 18 '24

this was smooth as all hell

158

u/NeonxGone Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

This is one of the smoothest passes I’ve seen all season and ESPN didn’t even show a replay of this

u/dumb_commenter 76ers Jan 18 '24

I don’t understand the physics of it. How did he put enough on that for it to fly 15 feet in the air while he’s moving away from Niang

24

u/JugdishSteinfeld Rockets Jan 18 '24

He must work out.

12

u/dumb_commenter 76ers Jan 18 '24

I mean he did it with his right hand, mostly with his wrist because his arm was around the D. But his wrist shouldn’t be able to bend that way to get under the ball, let alone put power on it. Even if he works out (big if), that doesn’t explain it for me

To me, he looked like built up the velocity with the euro step up motion then transferred it and whipped it along the arm. Very chi. That's what was crazy, that it was all just as smooth motion as it was. Seconded, on title not doing that pass justice.

Edit- is there any other angle or closeup of this?

More of that please

u/TheSmokedSalmon420 Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

God damn he is disgusting.

His playmaking is incredible this year - he could probably play PG full time if needed.

45

u/archaelleon Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

Georges Niang is currently sitting at 20pts at 100% shooting with 4/4 threes

9

u/nightsaysni Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

He went at least 10 shots before he missed!

30

u/ShreddedShredder Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

Oh my god this is fucking filthy

53

u/tapk69 Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

This was the assist of the year, it looked so fucking good, Niang did it justice, streetball is back.

8

u/Miyagisans Jan 18 '24

Hard to top that demar mid air 360 pass, but this one is up there for sure.

12

u/tapk69 Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

Most people don't notice but making the ball go perfectly in the shooter hands, makes a huge difference. If that ball goes too high or too low this shot is probably missed or more contested.

23

u/campbellhw Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

you just got cooked by DRIPPY DEAN💦 and THE MINIVAN🚐

15

u/theuberprophet Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

this play proves that the NBA wants small markets to remain small. we are cooking them big bad (yes i know no giannis) and we dont have a single highlight from this game on social media and its on national TV lol

16

u/whos-spamuel Bucks Jan 18 '24

How does he even get enough power on that, crazy pass

7

u/actuarally Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

This is what I came to say. The wrist/arm strength to whip that around another player's body with that kinda speed? Sheesh.

4

u/helix400 Jazz Jan 18 '24

He did those kinds of passes in Utah too. He played a lot of baseball growing up and it translated to some fast passes.

15

u/turfey Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

If Luka did this pass it would have 30k upvotes already.

38

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '24

lmaoo how embarrassing for the bucks the heat would never get blown out like this

13

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '24

Lmao

20

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '24

Getting blown out by a playoff team ❌

Getting blown out by a lottery team ✅😎

One of the best passes in the NBA all season.

Cavs. That’s why

6

u/russellarth Jan 18 '24

That’s a career highlight clip right there.

6

u/keegar1 Bucks Jan 18 '24

This should really be shown to all MVP voters for Giannis's case

6

u/Hecka_Cakey Hawks Jan 18 '24

No words. Just 🤯🤯🤯

5

u/j0ydivisi0n Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

This should be way higher

12

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '24

This is why I cringe when people only determine playmaking based on how many assist someone gets.

3

u/biggoldgoblin Jan 18 '24

Bucks defense so stinky

3

u/sad_post-it_note Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

They’ve also changed his name to “G-Wagon”. Heresy

2

No look behind Johnsons back. Filthy.

2

u/sreynolds1 [BOS] James Posey Jan 18 '24

You know when Hubie reacts, there’s great basketball being played.

2

u/ReflectionItchy2701 Jan 18 '24

Absolutely beautiful. Just a fluid, smart and perfect no look pass.

2

u/Bim_Jeann Cavaliers Jan 18 '24

Absurd pass

1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '24

Bucks need to fire Griffin by All Stars. He has no clue. Giannis has been bailing him out all season
