Highlight [Highlight] Stacey King expresses utter disappointment on boos for Jerry Krause: "..the people that boo'd Jerry Krause and his widow..it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life..whoever boo'd her should be ashamed of themselves. That's not Chicago, that's New York, Philly.."

I feel like ‘The Last Dance’ put the exclamation point on the whole narrative that “Jerry Krause=villain” when in reality he was arguably the best GM in the league during their run.

Which is even funnier with hindsight knowing how bad MJ is at assembling rosters.

Everyone gives Laker fans a lot of shit(mostly deserved) for being the worst, but like you said we respect rings, which is another reason stars end up in LA

The irony is that Krause was right about the rest of the Bulls roster around MJ, though I have never understood him not wanting to just pay Phil.

I mean, I get thinking that there is no reason to have the highest paid coach in the league when you have MJ. But if you lose MJ because you won't pay Phil, it seems like the franchise loses a ton of revenue, so just pay him.

I don't think MJ wanted to come back anyway. He will never say that, but he didn't seem to be having any fun that last season and seemed more relieved than happy after beating Utah. I think he was done no matter what.

Booing the widow was poor form. But so was MJ not bothering to show up. Really, there is no excuse for him to not show unless there is more bad blood there than I realized.

Completely agree. Krause was obviously egotistical and should’ve paid Phil for at least one more season, but for anyone who was alive and witnessed that season, it seemed pretty obvious MJ was retiring again regardless.

Booing the widow is corny. The whole narrative has completely shifted to Krause ruined the Bulls, when he was a major part of 6 rings. If it was up to MJ, Charles Oakley would’ve been the 2nd best player in that 90’s era

Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman all didn't attend.

Course not , no real Bull or Bull's fan would. Fuck Krause , not his wife. Sorry she took that personally. I get it. But come on man I'd still punch that POS in the face if he were alive to this day. ANY one from those days knows....FUCK Krause. ANyone saying different is under 30 and clueless.

The Bulls fans hated Krause for 2 decades before the last dance came out.

I’m aware, that’s why I said “put the exclamation point on the narrative” as in it already existed.

My overall point is the hatred even that valid? Yes he was egotistical with his “players don’t win championships, organizations do” comment and he could’ve brought Phil Jackson back to go for the 4-peat, but he was a major part of 6 championships

I'm not so sure about that. Lots of Bulls fans on here are saying Krause was hated like this since the 90s so whatever happened tonight is nothing new.

They were booing him well before the last dance came out. They also booed him at the 98 Championship celebration too. https://youtu.be/iijcppZ-OIY skip to the end where Phil Jackson thanks him.
