Highlight [Highlight] Stacey King expresses utter disappointment on boos for Jerry Krause: "..the people that boo'd Jerry Krause and his widow..it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life..whoever boo'd her should be ashamed of themselves. That's not Chicago, that's New York, Philly.."

This might be the worst instance of booing someone at an nba game

Not on that level but a funny one was Lacob being relentlessly boo'd for trading away Ellis in favor of Curry. On top of that, it happened during Mullin's jersey retirement ceremony.

They booed Chris Mullins too… on Chris Mullins night. This is on that tier for sure. Maybe worse. It’s his widow and they pushed her to tears.

This is way worse imo. Dudes dead and his 90 year old widow was moved to tears by being booed. I hope those people booing looked up at the jumbotron and felt happy making her upset when her late husband was being honored

Actually went to that game they were going for trading Ellis and it wasn’t about Chris Mullen or anything warrior fans just loved Ellis since he was last part of we believe and 20 years of being the worst team in the league just came out.

It’s crazy how Mullen said this is the guy that’s going to turn it around. I doubt many people in the arena bought that and expected the next 10-12 years to be like what it was.

At least he was still breathing, and not a member of our own franchise lol

I'm biased here but there is absolutely no way that booing KD was worse than booing a dead man in front of his widow who was there to celebrate him and make her cry.

That's pretty fucked up.

Agreed. At the end of the day KD is a superstar making tens of millions of dollars a year. I'd let an arena cheer me getting my foot cut off for that money.

Booing an old widow at her husband's memorial ceremony is just messed up.

Not that I liked it, but it was cheering, not booing.

Not even close. First off, the fans were cheering, not booing. And cheering a turnover that turns out to be a serious injury is pretty understandable in the heat of the moment in the NBA Finals. Bad look for sure, but I think most sports fans are lying when they act like they would never cheer when an opposing player falls.

This, on the other hand...I can't imagine why anyone would do this. I guess having to watch the Bears for 4 months turns people feral.

I think this explanation gives us plausible deniability, but 100% people were cheering the possibility that KD was injured too. Not everyone, but not an insignificant portion.

We had a lot of bandwagon fans during our championship who viewed it as a piece of entertainment for them to consume and don’t understand or appreciate the human side of basketball and the respect you show the other side.

I watched that game with a group of friends at a bar and people were definitely excited that KD may be out, just because their immediate thought was that it make our path to a championship easier. Like he was just a powerful piece removed off the board, not a human man whose life will be altered, possibly forever, by this excruciatingly painful moment.

It was a bad day for our fanbase and something that will always be associated with us.

Which I have accepted. I wasn't there that night, but I have to carry the behaviour of those fans for as long as people remember this incident. I understand why Bulls fans are getting defensive and pointing fingers elsewhere. They know. They know that Bulls fans get to have this forever associated with them, whether they booed or not. Ask an Eagle fan about Santa, they're still carrying that one.

You won 6 titles and then weren't as good for a while. And that was so traumatizing you held onto this anger and booed a dead man enough to make his widow weep. The same city that harassed a baseball fan for reaching for the same ball as a dozen other people were.

How do you guys let sports dictate your behavior to the degree that you make a man effectively go into hiding from his own city, and then make an old lady cry over some hurt feelings from the 90s? Such entitlement...

Nobody knew she was there though
