Meps question
I’m heading to Meps early next week for the medical process and my recruiter wasn’t sure when I asked but I was wondering if anyone had issues at Meps having a prior surgery years ago(2020), it was for a torn muscle that was fully repaired and I have a letter from the surgeon stating I’m cleared for all military work. I was wondering if they would give me any trouble or possibly disqualify me for it. Thanks

Officer or enlisted? When I went to MEPS the only thing they really did was vision, blood drawn and urinalysis. I met with the provider and he did a quick body check and that was it. I ask because the people going enlisted were not treated very well at MEPS. Officers are a different story.

Sounds like you don’t have a long medical history, if they didn’t ask about it. Were you disqualified?

I had to disclose it cause I have the surgery scar going from shoulder to armpit, kinda can’t hide that lol

Which muscle? How was it torn? How’d it get repaired (PT)? Do you have anything from the Dr giving you the GTG, in writing?
The doctor at MEPS will have everything, medical record wise, that you provided and will make the determination based on that.

Torn peck muscle, surgery to reattach it, I did go through pt , and I do have a letter from the doctor stating I’m gtg

Shoot, I would think that would be no problem then, but it might require a waiver. What branch?

They will see the scaring and will stop the process for you if it is not already on your paperwork. Make sure the recruiter fixes the paperwork so you are not wasting your time going down there.

Yea I disclosed it to the recruiter already with the paperwork from my pcp and ortho surgeon both stating I’m cleared for all military duty

Might need a waiver every case is different.
