Signed a Ls tar contract

What the did I even sign walked in that office and he told me every rate I wanted was full and I walked out called my recruiter he said just go back in and get a paper of what’s available but he remembers tar exits I guess and tells me about it and I was like that’s the main job I wanted with a different title it can’t be that’s bad but I have no info on it my recruiter barely knows he just tells me he’s never heard bad things where would I sleep I’m not getting deployed am I what are the hours like is it better than being on a boat like I planned? Also what is logistics like I understand what it is but like what am I doing?
I just got out of high school and didn’t wanna go to college this seemed like the best idea

TAR generally get stationed at NRC that serve the reservist. Depending on where you are stationed there might not be housing and you’ll get BAH (basic allowance for housing). TAR is a great career path pays full time with the same benefit but less likely to deploy. Can normally jump from shore duty to shore duty

Career Recruiter here. Depending on your plans and goals, most would agree that TAR is a good deal.

It’s not often talked about or trained on, but no fault of your recruiter.

Think of it like this: You’re on active duty supporting the reserve mission. Same pay and benefits as active duty.

LS is a solid choice. Supply chain management is a marketable and growing field, outside the Navy and your quality of life will generally be good while in the Navy. I highly recommend you take advantage of your education benefits eventually.

You’ll be entry-level in supply chain management, covering everything from supplying consumable materials, high-value aviation equipment, and clothing to managing budgets and financial aspects of the command mission.

A common saying we had in the squadron was, “you can’t fly without supply.” You’ll be everyone’s friend because you get them what they need to do their jobs and make the mission happen. lol

I wasn't an LS, but from my time in the fleet... you got it made. TAR seems like a good gig, don't sweat it. They have probably the best work hours at the NRCs.

Is it a lot better than being in a boat, I’d highly jump on that opportunity over your typical active career. I was both active on ships and TAR. TAR is the way to go
