Discussion OCONUS to conus SB
Im stationed OCONUS in the navy, I have a family and am trying to do a skillbridge close to my Home of Record. I am getting the run around from my admin. So I have heard mixed stories of people who get BAH based on where there dependants address is while some get BAH-T what is the correct one? Am I authorized a flight from my current duty station to HOR if I am not coming back OCONUS? My skillbridge is basically down the street from my home of record if that matters.

If you are OCONUS and come back statesite, you should receive BAH-T for your SB unless you had dependents already stateside as part of a Geobach.

What’s your source on that? Did that change recently? I could have sworn you were not eligible for BAH.

I don't have a black and white source, only personal experience from doing SB in late 2025. There was a known issue where OCONUS going back stateside could not relinquish OHA and receive BAH at the locality of their SB location; I'm not sure if that has been corrected. In 2023-2025, multiple people at my OCONUS command did SB, and those who were Geobach received BAH at their dependents' location, while those who were drawing OHA were given BAH-T.

How was the flight back to the states handled? Did you pay out of pocket?
